Why would anyone get a degree in finance when accounting covers everything in finance + more?

Why not both?

I un-ironically have my BS in Finance and work for an accounting/marketing company. They're both great choices anon.

Double-majoring, even in two fields that are so similar, is kind of a pain if you also have a part-time job and extra-curricular activities like the Student Accounting Society and/or generic Greek-letter scholastic societies.

But accounting doesn't cover everything in finance. I know plenty of accountants who don't know jack shit about stocks and bonds.
Because Upper level accounting courses teach you nothing that makes you good at Finance.
They might make you a good Accountant because you know indeprh auditting and taxation but that has no carryover into Finance.

>accounting
boring and dispassionate study, boring work
>>1092643
doesnt matter at all. you can do accounting with finance degree and vice versa. nobody really dont even ask about it. just say you graduate from this and that uni and that's it. i have finance degree and i apply and have been getting only accounting jobs
finance degree = bank teller, salesman. boring as fuck and ass licking. nobody wants banking career.
accounting = just a number nerd. some work from home

how can banking be more boring than accounting lol
>>1092803
well, what is excactly your "banking"?
>>1092807
does it even matter? I can't imagine anything more boring than putting numbers in a computer all day, or going over hundreds or thousands of pages of numbers of different companies at best. Accountants won't even exist 10 years from now
>>1092807
only idiots who study finance end up being a bank teller or salesman lol
>>1092800
Yeah? Is that why finance major starting salaries are higher than memecountants?
>>1092643
finance > accounting
accounting + economics > finance + economics
finance + economics + mathematics (me) > anything

So what, you're an actuary?
