Hey /biz/. Looking to go into mechanical or electrical engineering. Just wondering if anyone has any information on what to expect for day to day life of the career? Expected wages for starting, 5, & 10 year. I'm really interested in either renewable energy or developing engines.

Don't bump
Look online.
Ask your union faggot.

these things always seem phony to me but electrical engineer here.
I started working about 15 years ago. Starting salary was like 56k in the Washington DC area. That's probably a bit low now.
after 5 years I was in the 80s-90s.
After 10 years definitely above 100k. Now at about 140.
Daily work routine varies, but it's about solving problems, keeping current on new tech and delivering with no drama.
Know nothing about energy.

Renewable is kinda a meme nowadays, but perhaps in 5 years it will stop being so. Don't know nothing about engines.
Power engineering, in general, is kind of a chill, albeit boring (for me), subset of EE.
The another EE anon is right regarding the routines.
