I've wanted to be an actor ever since I was 16, but that doesn't pay bills unless you get good roles and you need connections for that. I just turned 18 so I'm going to be realistic and hopefully get a good job from a business major but take acting classes on the side so I can at least do it as a hobby.

See I was thinking I'd minor in theater and after I find a job (after college) I'll take the classes. I want to be able to afford a house (shitty family, can't stand living with them longer than I have to) and eat. If I can make a decent amount of money with a business degree then I'll do that and try to transition into acting if I do make those connections and gigs. Thoughts?

I never figured it out.
So I just took some shitty business degree in college and work at a job I neither enjoy nor hate, so I've made the best of a bad situation.

I'm still jealous as fuck of people who love their job, but at least I'm not in a job I dread everyday

Grew up in a military family. Didn't think I ever wanted to be in the military until I went to help a friend in the navy move his stuff back to our home area. Lived on his couch for two weeks. Got a first hand look at military life. Realized that it was what I wanted deep down.

wanted to be a financier or broker of some type, majored in economics and applied to everything after college, took the first job that called for experience but may stay since it pays well.

I never figured what I want to be, so I studied Maths with Stats and decided to teach tax free in the sunny Middle East.

Too bad teaching (read: zookeeping) for the past 18 months demoralised me to the ground. I willingly walked inyo the graveyard for the unambitious.

Although I'm getting qualified at the end of this year, most Dubai vacancies require Native English speakers and I'm a Slav with an accent.

So... yeah... applying to postgraduate courses at the moment for Quantitative Finance. I wanna be a /quant/ like the cool kids. Or a CFA... or MSc Statistics... or ACCA...

I'm 23 and have not a fucking clue what I want to be.... What should I be with Maths and Stats, /biz/? Do I hop on the investment banking meme-train?

Well Bobby, ever since I was a wee sprout I've wanted to train bears.

Now I'm getting my BBA with a specialisation in Finance because it's the only place I managed to get into and I'm too old to switch, which is essentially the same thing.

Say you're bilingual and English is one of your native languages. You might as well be, they don't know. I can't fucking stand people who hire native speakers without a degree over non-native english majors with teaching experience.
