No. Forget about Alibaba as you will not be able to compete against every man and his dog who are already buying trash from China and selling it to morons. Especially with only $1000 which is peanuts for starting an import business. There is nothing on alibaba that some Indian isn't already selling on eBay for 1 cent margins.

Instead, get a job and save up money. When you have 10k, find a product you can private label as a unique brand (one that doesn't come from China, India, etc.) and throw it up on Amazon then market it with paid advertising on appropriate channels. Good luck, pal.
