Does anyone here gamble? I don't mean stock gambling, but regulars games. Do you make a living of it, what games do you play?
I play a table game and make around 50$ an hour when I'm bored.
I got carried away once and lost $50 decided to not do it again.
>>1078806
Thats the story of many, you just gotta stick to it and you'll make it back I swear anon.
>>1078809
I get bored. I once did one of those websites where you get a 300% deposit bonus, so I put in $10 and got $40.. ofcourse it had some ridiculous terms and conditions to it like having to bet the amount 35 times on a slot machine.
I went to play blackjack instead and got up to $600..which ofcourse I couldn't withdraw and ended up losing a while later anyways, but it's not a fun thing to do. It's boring.
So, tell me about your games.
>>1078815
I used to play poker but didn't really make money fast enough for me to even care, and I'm not that good.
I play black jack on smaller sites, and no deposit bonus stuff. I've made few thousands from it this year, but it's really like second work for me.
Really would like to get into high stakes fold'em though
>>1078820
Do you use cryptocurrency or regular dollars?
>>1078821
Regular dollars, how do you even play with crypto?
>>1078820
What's your system?
>>1078829
This is one of them, the betting pattern is to double down on loss and reset when you win. You also should learn to count cards.
Start with the smallest bet you can make, youll make money when you are losing, especially when you hit black jack on a losing streak or when you double down. Mathematically it works until you max out your bet at a table, thats why if I lose up until 4 or 8$ I just reset to avoid tilting. But betting 16, 32 etc is where you statistically make your money back and then some.
>>1078804
I gamble a little. I have multiple friends who are basically addicts.
Almost everyone loses. It's a losing proposition.
Even the guys I know that win, really they have only broken even when they consider all their losses.
>>1078832
Cool thanks
>>1078820
>I play black jack on smaller sites
online blackjack is -EV
real life card counting isn't worthwhile in most cases these days either - variance is high and you can't stick around for too long...
if you're able to card count well you'll probably make more money on an hourly basis grinding away poker
poker and sports betting are the main ways to make money from gambling using skill... though relatively few people do - most poker players and sports betters lose money
>>1078891
tears mate
>>1078832
>betting pattern
>blackjack
Nope.
I would never do that. Casinos specifically come up with the odds of their games in such a way that they always win in the end.
If you gamble, you literally play a sucker's game
>>1078804
I lost 100 dollars playing slots once. Felt like playing an electronic lottery card.
Was fun.
>>1078828
They used to have bitcoin casinos, I don't know if they still do. Satoshi dice too which I'm pretty sure was used to launder drug money.
>>1079019
This. The only game that you can make money on is poker, and that's because you're pitting your skill against the other players. Anything where you play the house you can't beat the odds, over the long term you will lose.
>>1078832
Just reporting in again, made 150$ today by playing this while watching podcasts and browsing 4chin. Just gotta make a stop loss at 4$ bets since anything above that eats away at your deposits too fast, well depends on your table so 4x losing streak is hard reset. Also wins reset betting back to min amount. Black jack has way better odds than roulette if you use charts, almost 50/50 game in the long run and betting pattern to make up for it (and getting a BJ on a losing streak is good profit). Don't really care to go any deeper than this but the math checks out my friends.
I won 200 on the 25 cent slot last time I was there, would be addicted to that shit if I didn't have to drive 45 minutes to the indian reservation to get to a casino.
>>1079713
holy fuck, 200 from 25c? best I've ever won was 3$ from 20c...
>>1078804
I bet on boxing and usually win. I've been watching it since I was a kid though.
I love craps. Just play for fun. And, oh is it ever fun!
bitcasino.co has a coinflip game I've won pretty good on. It's Bitcoin only though
>>1079707
>"Almost" 50/50
>thinks that there is even one betting pattern that exists to beat a negative EV game
You're an idiot and terrible at math too
I've been actually developing a model to predict outcomes for NHL games. Been on it for about a month and I can accurately predict the outcome 90% of the time. Thinking about selling my picks - if anyone's interested, shoot me a note at owlshave gmail & we will work something out.
>>1079707
What site do you use?
>>1078832
What about insurance? Do you just take it when available?
Also im assuming by your chart you never split double 10s?
I probably spent over $4000 on lottery over the last 4 years, largely net loss.
Not gaming but I started betting college and pro football this year with a $750 bankroll and closed out the year with $2,000. Was up to $3,000 at one point. Obviously not enough to live on but was fun while it lasted.
I lost about 2 BTC with gambling, actually won it back, and then quit for good.
>>1079025
SatoshiDice is still up and running. Their EV is 0.981 which is far better than any lottery.
I played poker and would alternate between cleaning house and getting rekt by some guy with too much money on his hands
>>1078804
I don't personally gamble.
My great grandfather made a fortune gambling with rigged dice though.
>>1078804
I work in the casino industry for about 5 years now.
And my experience is that OP makes 50 an hour and loses 2/300 an hour at the same time.
>>1078891
and this guy is very right. Though I would favor sports better. Especially very small local competition leagues where the betting agent doesn´t have enough data and information to calculate likely outcomes.
>>1079717
in our casino we once had someone who won 35 grand on a 10 buck slot machine (and it was her first tenner and first time there)
We never saw her again after she cashed out all the money kek.
It doesn´t matter financially for us as for every winner there are 1000 losers.
>>1078804
I like to gamble on unusual shit
pic related, my bets for the US presidential election
Started a bit of sport betting 3 weeks ago. Mostly just soccer and football during the playoffs. Up almost $200, but could've been more if I didn't cash in early
>>1079845
did you bet on the Broncos?
>>1078804
I do matched betting
>sign up to betting site
>deposit £x
>make a bet of £x on game of bowls with odds of 1.9 on one player
>introductory offer gives me second bet of £x
>place this on the other player in match
>all outcomes covered
>100% chance of winning
>almost double money
>withdraw everything
>find new site
Easiest money I've ever made without any risk.
>>1078804
I was looking to do some online poker for fun. BUt the sites all seem like the biggest scams ever. The hoops and fees you have to go through to withdraw your cash is fucking ridiculous. all while they are making money on the rake.
>>1079946
Never buy insurance since statistically the odds are against you in it. I do it fo the lulz sometimes though since I'm an unlucky bastard and dealer with an ace upcard for me is usually a black jack anyway, but then the bet is small.
>>1079764
Yeah, I've had extensive math in school and it all checks out, I've read about a lot off stuff against the betting pattern in coin flipping and roulette but they don't account for black jacks and double downs which you cannot do in a coin flip...
>>1080248
Good decision imo, once you hit that big and youre not into gambling, just quit.
>>1079845
How does that even work?
>>1079019
if you play blackjack correctly the house edge is less than 1%, still not in your favor but its pretty much 50/50
>>1080373
Wrong. Blackjack and double downs are calculated when they determine the odds. Without them you would even lose more money. Again, there is no betting system that can beat a negative EV game. The only way this would work is to count cards which you can't do with online blackjack since they reset the deck after every hand. I don't know where you got your math degree but you should sue that school.
>>1080436
"pretty much" is not good enough. Due the law of large numbers you are guaranteed to lose money if you play long enough.
>>1079707
>getting a BJ
After playing this for several hours and being anywhere from $50 up to $50 down during that time, what I've noticed is, if you stick to the plan you don't really lose. You just hover around even.
Knowing this I think I've found a more reliable way to make money: bonus deposits.
Every online site gives you bonus money matching your first few deposits usually within a limit and up to a max sum. So the one im using will match your first deposits up to $400 per deposit and $3200 total. The catch is, to withdraw the bonus amount you need to gamble it or turn it over to the sum of $4000.
So by depositing $200 and getting your $200 bonus, you can then withdraw your initial deposit and start playing with the casino's money using this blackjack method. You'll turn over the $4000 in a day or two, then you can withdraw it. If you make money on top of that, that's just gravy.
>>1079845
>Been on it for about a month and I can accurately predict the outcome 90% of the time
something is likely very wrong with your model
also the aim with handicapping ins't to predict the outcome per say but predict the correct odds and then exploit bookies offering odds that give you value according to your model - gambling markets are reasonably efficient so realistically the edges are relatively small - few % or so in liquid markets at best. Ergo you've almost certainly made a big error somewhere and should go over your work again.
also - selling your picks is dumb - if you've got a decent model then the best way to make money is to bet with it not sell picks...
it is that sort of thing that might make people think you're a blatant scammer
>>1079209
>I'll stick to black jack since I've made thousands from that and not poker.
if you're talking about online blackjack and you're not lying then unless you're taking advantages of bonuses you've merely got lucky
this:
>>1078832
is a -EV game... (also in online blackjack the cards are shuffled each time)
>>1080833
>pretty much is not good enough
so? Casino gambling is always going to be a losing proposition, its a fun way to relieve stress not an investment or a job, only an idiot or a degenerate gambler (respectively) would think that.
oh and btw if you're so concerned about that tiny house edge then play craps. Odds on the point have 0 house edge.
>>1080986
kek.. you cannot withdrawal bonus money.
And usually when you do a withdrawal you lose all your bonus money automatically Otherwise you have endless amounts of free riders, people who play for free that way
Come on, casino's are not that dumb.
Only with pool. I'm not good enough to be comfortable gambling large amounts yet, so I just win local tournements and play for small cash to pay for my nights out.
Wizard of odds is the site you need to visit and you will understand how useless pkaying afainst the house really is.
>>1080112
Any good places to do online college football betting? I played one of those "pick the matchup" games all season and actually did really well so I figure it might be fun to up the ante a little.
>>1080255
Lol implying a republicuck is going to win
>>1079946
I like to take insurance if I have blackjack and sometimes when I have a 20. No point insuring a shitty hand because you'll probably lose even if the dealer doesn't have blackjack since the odds of the dealer busting with an upcard ace are pretty low.
