When you played the game, there was a random chance you could lose your house. You had the option to bet against that.

This part of the game is stupid because you don't do anything with the house other than buy it, so you always want the cheapest one with the least insurance so you have the most money - you don't get bonus points for having a cool house. This always bothered me as a kid
