>Venezuela's government has tried to deny economic reality with price and currency controls. The idea was that it could stop inflation without having to stop printing money by telling businesses what they were allowed to charge, and then giving them dollars on cheap enough terms that they could actually afford to sell at those prices
>The idea was that it could stop inflation without having to stop printing money
>stop inflation

Watching a documentary about how American finance "regulators" are literally the same people sitting on the boards of investment banks that brought on the global anal prolapse of 2008, and also the same people that successfully lobbied against regulation during the decade before that.

Yeah. Saw it years ago but didn't know shit about finance at that point, and didn't care because I was in college getting high and playing Football Manager.
I don't understand why the US gives all its money to Saudis for oil when they've gone fucked us multiple times and cucked Europe with terrorism.
Venezuela would be a much better partner not just for political reasons, but proximity, much larger reserves, and the fact that they won't be slaughtering Americans, just themselves, if we prop them up.
Would also divert all the illegals if they manage to become wealthy.

I think you'll have to go back to Nixon and Kissinger for an answer to that question.
A lot of bridges were burned in South America in those days.
