As far as I know those are the big two accounting software. MYOB is a desktop program I think whereas Xero is cloud based. My office just migrated from MYOB to Xero

Most small businesses with older gen owners in the US will use something Intuit has made. I'd familiarize yourself with that stuff and it will translate to anything else in the market.
