No. I started as a financial advidor, which consisted of selling front loaded mutual funds. I was a bit disapointed and moved to that position where I'd answer questions for self service clients. You do learn alot about how the market works but being in a call center environment for 42k a year and having to put up with compliance and asshole clients is a soul sucking job.

What's the most bizarre call you've ever taken?

I was working a night shift and some dude got stuck in a cab and called wanting to sell his stock so he could pay and get out (we offer a debit card linked to the account). Told him that market was closed and he would then need to wait for his funds to settle before he could acces them. He started yelling at me so I hung up on him.

Also had some crackhead lady call in and said that she knew exactly what we were doing and how we should be ashamef that we were conspiring against the US and some other nonsense.

Also had some lady inherit like 25k of some random penny stock and wanted to sell it. When I placed the trade it got blocked by our new york trade desk and we had to get her to fill out some forms to make sure it wasn't a pump and dump scheme.
