If you're collecting data or have authentication, yes. If it's just a static landing page or something no. To add SSL lookup LetsEncrypt
It's getting more and more important. Browsers are starting to get people more informed about security, and every hip new website that offers dick pic sharing or whatever the fuck else always has https. You should have an SSL cert.

Let's put it this way. If the site has any sort of interaction where the user and server share information that the user would not go announcing on a megaphone, then the site should have SSL.
