Bump. Interested.

I did some CFD's for a bit.

Fees and spread made it kinda shit unless you got a good run. I used massive leverage but cause im poor fag.

I once traded without a stop loss and it just pulled me out of my position when all my cash to cover margin was gone.

Not dangerous if you're careful, but as they say, leverage in finance is like speed to a car, it gets you where you're going quicker, but if you crash its so much more worse.

Its just another financial tool but is removed from the reality of the market as you are betting with the broker who alters prices.

Id just ETF or value invest.

tldr, not dangerous if you're careful. use stop loss.

This gif cracked me up. Thank you OP.

I think they're only traded in the UK, mainly because the Stamp Duty Tax renders trading actual equities pointless. They may even be illegal in the US.

Is it true the places that run them aren't regulated the way brokerages are, meaning you can get raped by a bunch of crooks? I think I read that on one of the threads here.

Don't know mate. I mean I'm AUS and trade on CMC markets, they got a few different platforms. I can't see it being real criminal, just too much bad PR. Its prob more like leaning so the house wins, like a casino..

I remember reading somewhere when I signed up that you couldn't be a US citizen.

They're not real trading, this is what you gotta understand. Its more risky than day trading stocks but you got even less control. All I did in the end to start making money was going with swings, jump out when I had no clue what market was doing, jump back in with leverage when 'it only made sense' for it to go a certain direction.

Yeah, it sounds shitty all around.
But if you're AUS, not UK, can't you trade real equities without getting boned on tax?
Or do you guys have some stupid ass Stamp Tax too?
