Zero, I regret it even now I don't have a job. ;_;
>>
>>1059191
Basically zero. I was a grad student getting a stipend of about $1500 per month.
>>
Liquid currency or property? I had a two family condominium In a shit area at 19. made about $1800 a month plus a 30k a year job. Pretty sure I ended my 24th year with about 110k of liquid cash, along with thirty grand on the property ( 22k and 8k to fix it up, reappraised It two years ago for 90k and made like a bandit ).

At 22 i had maybe $800

I'm 23 now and I have $14500 saved up. Finished a year teaching in Korea. Staying for one more year. I could've saved $17k if i didn't go to Japan or have a korean girlfriend but I'm not complaining.

Trying to save as much as I reasonably can before I start teaching in the shitpay countries i.e. Russia, Eastern Europe.

I'll be 24 in a few months, and I think I'll have about this much more or less by then.

Not the best not the worst taking into consideration how many of my peers are doing, but I don't want to slow down because of that.

Most people are broke at 24, and when I say most I mean over 95%. Usually those with money saved up most of their income(over 90%) or daddy gave them a house, condo, apartment, car, credit cards, stocks, etc.

/thread.
>>
Well looks like I'm in a special position to answer that since I will be 24 in about 8 hours.

~$40k in cash
~$11k in liabilities ($10k student loans and $1k credit cards)

So about $29k net worth.
>>
$50,000.
>>
>>1060461
In cash?
>>
>>1060467
Yeah. I had two high paid Silicon Valley internships in college, leaving me with around ~$50k.
>>
>>1060461

Same, I'm 23 now and turn 24 in May and have about $45k now and my plan is to have at least $50k by 24. All my money is in my savings, checkings, brokerage, Roth IRA, and about $1.5k in another retirement account. I'd have $50k now if it weren't for the down swing in the stock market recently.
>>
My worth on paper was probably a touch over $300k, but liquid I probably only had about $5k

The paper asset is my share in my small business, which is obviously not liquid at all
>>
>>1060474
hey same here, it's even funnier when you realize you got a full ride and have zero debt
when you end up in this situation there's really nothing you can do with this money if you don't want to buy a house or car
it'd take a decade to funnel it into an IRA and CD's hardly beat savings these days
>>
>>1060510

You could leverage that money with options to produce substantial returns, but it would require more work than sticking it in an IRA or a house
>>
I had around 30 grand, but a few months after I jad a few hundred grand.
>>
>>1060548

details pls?
>>
150k house with 60k left on mortgage = 90k
20k stocks
24k cash
>>
>>1060474
Good for you.
>>
>>1060543
I don't know about the other kiddos ITT but I'm not prepared to accept that level of risk with the majority of savings
>>
20years old about 70k but will be about 70k in debt in a couple of years.
>>
>>1060574

Buying options (either calls or puts) is not super risky, the losses are capped at what you pay for the contract

Only selling options puts you at risk for unlimited loss
>>
>>1060581
maybe so but as you said it requires work and time

the solution I came to thinking about this is that since my MAGI is still low enough for the IRA contribution to be tax deductible, I continue making yearly contributions to minimize my taxes, meanwhile doing a CD ladder

I'm in the $50k range and I have a small option strangle position. I don't mind selling covered calls either. Then again, I spend a considerable time studying and looking for investment opportunities because I'd like to eventually manage my investments full time.

less than 1k. i had about 20k of inventory in my business though and maybe a few grand in cash in the business account.

today at 32 i own about 650k of inventory valued much higher. 37k in my business account.

i have 52k in my personal checking and 56k in my scottrade - which is all liquid now.
>>

Why not just pay off all the debt right now?

24 currently, making around $60k/yr

Between liquid savings and company stock, around $15k.
401k about $7k
Other assets probably ~$8k
TOTAL ASSETS: ~$30k

$13k remaining student loan at ~3%
$26k remaining on car loan at 1%
LIABILITIES: ~$39k, paying about $500 towards each per month.

Part of me wished I hadn't got the car and saved for a house, but I'm waiting until more boomers downsize/die off to see if the FHA collapses and corrects prices to meet demand.

pic related, debt feels

I was only one year out of college, so probably about $10k. I'm 31 now and have a net worth of probably about $500k through honest work, diligent saving, and good investments.

No interest on the credit card balance. Student loans are small and have like a 3.5% interest rate. I think the interest is tax deductible too. Also adds good goy points to my credit score. There are better places for my money.

23, live with family. Have 2 part time jobs, that both pay under 13$ hour,go to community college. But have a nice car and including all
My assets I'm worth over 100k thanks to my grandparents. God am I lucky and I'm saving everything I can so I can live my dream.
>>
>>1060220
>>
>>1062387

I know it was probably irresponsible, but I spend a lot of time in my car and wanted to make what used to be the worst part of my day nice.

It is also around 2x more fuel efficient than my last one which helps (but not by much).
>>
>>1062890
The problem is (that im assuming)you bought a brand new car!. Nigga your car lost 9-5k in value as soon as you drove it off the lot. Please tell me you bought something that people will find valuable in the future so you don't lose half the value.
>>
>>1062890

> the insanity of normal people trying to rationalize one of the dumbest emotional investments of all time.

>drive to work is bad :(
>fuel efficiency at $1.50 gas

You fucked up alot of future wealth because of that, but ya know what fuckit i bet the gnorance was bliss
>>
>>1061361
At 24 I was -20k. Now I'm at 23k at 26, turning 27 soon..
>>
>>1062903

I did. It's one of the higher trims in auto. It is a hatch with plenty of cargo room that fits my lifestyle so I doubt ill sell it anytime soon. I don't view cars with selling them immediately in mind, so I did months of research to figure out what I would keep for a long time that would be reliable and fun.

To your point, It is worth (according to bluebook) about $4k less than I bought it for on the used market, so it could be worse, but at the end of the day I was aware of these facts going in.
>>
>>1062913

I know I made a sacrifice, but I still save 20% or more of post-401k post-tax earnings.
>>
>>1059191
not there yet so I don't know.

9k cash
9k car
3k bike
10k in retirement fund
36k in shares
8k owed to me by parent that borrowed to get out of high interest debts
16k owed in student loans but I have chosen another path so dropped out two years ago.

Living frugally and saving half my income since 19 while working close to full time. Booking my truck and boat licence so I can legally drive anything. Picking a career is the hardest thing. Might just be a truckie.

I'm 19, in college and without a job (though I'll likely look for something after this semester). My income is my dad essentially giving me the money he used to owe my mom for child support every week since he's used to taking it out of his paycheck.

I've got close to $4000 between my Checking, Savings, Wallet, and my small compartment of coins that I'll eventually cash in once I have enough.

I spend roughly $30 a week on food on average, and maybe one nice thing for myself a month. Also rent for the dorm I currently live in, which is very, very nice for under $700 a month.

Just tell me what the car is so I can tell you how hard you fucked up. The only autos that are hatches anymore are. The Mazda 3. A Volvo wagon, the new focus rs, or a scion
Otherwise it's a crossover, and crossovers are just awful.

>bluebook says 4k.
Yeah no. Nobody pays blue book value for a used car.
>>
>>1062929

I'm in Ausland so cars are a Lil more anyway. Did only pay 4k
>>
>>1062941
I was getting at the fact that you paid 1/3rd the price of your car for a bike
>>
>>1062935

What I'm really interested in is your opinion of each car in a power rankings format.
>>
>>1062944

Well in Australia you have to sit on a bike running under 44hp for three years if you're under 25. This a is a bike just to last me another 6 months when I get a nice super sport. Budgeting 6-7k for a nice ninja zx6
>>
>>1062949
Id be happy to answer but What exactly do you mean by power rankings format?

>which car I think is the best
>which car I think is the fastest
>which car is the best DD. (Daily driver)

So I'll just use the four cars that I used in my previous comment.
>the best
1,Volvo. The cars are comfy, good looking and reliable, and will get up and go for there class. #2 Mazda 3, #3 focus rs #4 scion xb
>>
I had about 10-15k when I turned 24 in my savings. I'm 29 now and have about 70k :(

bigger pockets in general is shill central with less useful information than 4chan. at least on 4chan you occasionally find a thread that's a goldmine of good information. on bigger pockets it's bits of decent information scattered everywhere. most threads devolve into people outright shilling for something, or suggesting that the OP gets in touch with someone.
