First step, write business plan. This will tell you how much you will need in initial funds. Next step, get those funds, as well as a business license. Next, buy the basic supplies you'll need to get started. Then, run your business.

I suggest you try something small and low risk at first, such as a business plan to "buy a lawn mower, overalls and weed whacker to start my lawncare business". Try something that will let you try the steps of opening a business that if it fails will only put you out 200 dollars or so.

go door to door with a clipboard and introduce yourself as the new local gardener, ask the house owner if they would like a quote for doing their lawn. if they say yes, quote them a price. and say the next availability is in 2 weeks

now, keep doing this for about 2 weeks. you will have a calendar full of appointments.

NOW go and buy a lawnmower and a strimmer.
