Paypal agreed to settle a Class Action Lawsuit. Plaintiffs allege Paypal improperly held user's funds, and also failed to issue monthly account statements.
Unfortunately the settlement is only 3.2 million dollars.

D-do we get some shekels?
I used to love class action lawsuits. You can sign up to any that don't require proof of purchase and get a check for ~$20-50 in like a year.

Nope.
Actually need to verify for this one.
I submitted. It didn't require documentation, but just wanted you to confirm that a hold was placed in those years with account info. I've had at least 2 holds that I remember. One pissed me off. Nice to have revenge.

Same here.
wait so freeeeee money// do i just submit some form and pray to get money. what is the legitimate problem that people had

You committed fraud and gave them your account information?
/biz/, ladies and gents.

Their funds were frozen for 180+ days without notice from paypal. If you have had your account frozen for 180+ days, then by all means, join the lawsuit.

I imagine it's when your account is locked. I've had people open claims on ebay for far less than what is in my account, and Paypal freezes everything. It's fucking annoying. I would like any and all legislation that causes them to be treated more like a bank so people are better protected, but this lawsuit is going to be settled so the rich will avoid setting precedent on it.

what if I just want some of that free green stuff, or will it not work

This requires that you provide proof. I suppose you could attempt to forge it, but that effort could be used to make you green stuff in other ways.
