So I was working in Japan for a few years but I'm now back in the US.
Theres a law in Japan that says you have to close your bank account if you move out the country, so I shut it down and brought all my savings back with me. The problem is the yen is doing really shitty currently so I didn't want to convert it to dollars. I also don't like just having a pile of cash sitting around at home. What are my options in the US?
Its not a massive amount (about $3000) but its still something

There was a similar thread recently, see if it's still up. You can wait for a reversal, or something about bitcoin and precious metals? I don't know.

Safe deposit box at bank?
Cash it in and deal with it?
Give it to a Japanese friend?
Hate to say it OP but I don't see the yen recovering against the greenback any time in the next decade
Either convert it now or just hold on to it as spending money for your next trip to Japan
