are there any aerospace engineers in here that want to give yours truly an internship for the upcoming summer? (or fall/spring?). I am a junior at a 4 year university with a terrible 2.5 gpa and I have just 1 research experience that isn't that big of a deal.

You're memeing me aren't you? Give me one solid reason why I shouldn't take on someone with a 3.7 gpa vs. you. Also where are you located?
>>

ME grad here. You will not be hired in your field with that GPA without a personal connection.

Sorry you wasted your time and money on that degree path.
>>
What is considered an acceptable GPA for engineers trying to find a job?

Be an EE whose graduating in a few weeks with a 3.46 from a state school

There really isn't any reason to take me over a 3.7. I'm sure that in the end my GPA won't really matter in the workplace. Located in northern virginia

I'm a virginia tech student

in the unlikely event you actually are looking to fill a position, junior, 3.6 gpa and I design manufacturing automation systems for a nasa contractor

i graduated this past december from an aero program. started senior year with a 2.63. ended with a 3.0

that being said i did take 4.5 years (9 semesters) to graduate. took more time because i took minimum credits and tried to get straight A's. spread senior year out over 1.5 years.

starting a job soon with a pretty big aero company. landed internship this past summer (my only one through college) as a result of applying to 200+ requisitions.

while my story isnt the point of your thread, just letting you know that you can get your shit together still. focus hard.

as far as internships go, apply to every damn requisition to every damn company.if anything, you get interview practice.

My brother went to Iowa State and got a BS in Aerospace Engineering, GPA 2.4. 20 years on he's a successful IT guy. He never got a job in Aerospace though.

3.0 is a minimum, under which your resume is not accepted or thrown straight into the trash.
>>
Ausfag here. I don't get your ameriburger grading stem. What would, say, a 3.0 be equivalent to as a percentage?
>>
>>1038371
Usually 80% or above, but most engineering coursework is heavily curved. I had courses where a raw 45% would be curved to 100.
