Sup' /biz/nessmen,
I got an interview for an M&A IB internship position.
What is a safe bet to wear?
I kinda have a dilema because I only have either an unfit white shirt or a fit white shirt with light blue stripes to wear. What's best?
Also business clothing general I guess.

Check the website for photos of what the key people wear.
Wear whatever's closest to that.

Take the white shirt to a tailor. Nothing is stopping you. Also wear a blue tie, any other colour could send the wrong signals.

I've gone through those interviews fella... proper suit and tie pretty much a must. If you are new to IBD in general i'd recommend the Vault IBD guides as a good place to start also.

I'd say avoid red tie. Red tie + black suit is a major no no. In my opinion, another big no no is an expensive briefcase/courier bag. You see so many try hard faggots at ACs. You have to signal your juniority. Other than that, use common sense and don't over do it nor come in like a slob.

Also, avoid stripes, so go with the unfit shirt. You'll be wearing a blazer over anyway right?

Charcoal gray suit, black shoes, black over the calf socks, black belt, white button down shirt, no cuff links, gold-ish tie or dark blue. Black wristwatch, clean finger nails but don't get your nails "done".. No briefcase or satchel. Turn your fucking phone off. Be pleasant, just like the Goldman Sachs guys who will come to visit you one day but are really looking to exploit you to their benefit.
