Does being an Eagle Scout actually look good to employers these days, or is that just a thing in the past?

I dont think it ever looked good. Eagle scouts are usually fuckin weird
>>
It helped me get a 50k scholarship.

Plus my project gave me something to talk about during interviews. Honestly though, it will probably only help you if whoever is hiring you is also an eagle scout.
>>
I'm an Eagle Scout. Got my B4 advisory job because of it. Not to mention 10s of thousands in scholarships during college.

I'm an eagle scout. Never really did anything for me. That said, if you live by the boy scout code you're going to be more successful than most people on this board. But it's something you have to practice everyday.

>Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, Reverent

All traits that will set you apart from the average 4channer. Act like the person you want to be on your gravestone, anons

My dad told me when he sees eagle scout on someone's resume he would ask them what's the scout law? If they couldn't answer him he would suggest they take it off their resume.

It apparently happened a lot.

Crazy.
I'm an Eagle and I have the Scout Oath and Law burned into my brain.

As for the question, being an Eagle definitely helped me get into the uni I'm at. Also, I won a $20,000 Eagle scholarship by speaking at some dinner to a bunch of rich white guys who were somehow involved in scouting.

Now I'm developing an app and I'm using my scouting connections to market it since the app promotes community service.

Scouting in general gets a bad rep, but being an eagle is something I'm proud of because it's actually pretty hard to do.
So yeah, I'd say it has done a lot for me.

>Havent said nor heard it in the last five years
>Raise three fingers to see if myscle memory works
>"On my honor, I will do my best..."

Holy shit, I'm honestly surprised I can remember the oath and law still
>>
I only got to Webelos myself, but some of my best friends have turned out to be Eagle Scouts.

Helps a little bit

Some are total aspies. Most scouts are weird; I'll give you that. There are two of us at work. Girls in the office have begged me to take them hiking and think the trips I've taken are cool. The other one is a 22 year old virgin that wears a black blazer with navy pants at least once a week.
>>
>>1034802
Ask yourself this; all other things being equal would you hire the Eagle Scout or the other anon. There's your answer.
>>

If someone hiring was involved in boyscouts it looks great.
