I just got back from Mexico DF. Lots of construction going on. Reminded me of booming Southeast Asian cities like Bangkok.
Has some pretty nice neighborhoods. A lot of them have a European/Colonial vibe to them.
Stay outta the slums and you should be good. Maybe rent an apartment with 24/7 security.
Would live there to chase Mexicanas and learn Spanish.
