Casually trading stocks as a hobby is now just a meme. Gone are the days where a little know-how and some smarts could get you far in the market. You won't be able to outperform the sophisticated software and bots that the pros use.
Plus the time and effort it would take for you to know enough now about a sector to be able to net a profit from investing would be better spent expanding your skill set towards your career. In terms of $/hr you'd make way more money doing that. Just put your savings in a mutual fund and let the pros worry bout it.
