Sup /biz/. I don't know why I'm asking since most of the people on this board are American and degrees are different in Europe. Basically I've fucked up my exams and I managed to only get into an ordinary bachelors degree in engineering. I basically have two choices. To go into the Honors Bachelors after 1 year in general or do the 3 years of the Ordinary bachelors and then go into year 3 of the Honors Bachelors. Both routes will take 5 years in total (1 extra year for a 4 year exam) but I'm not sure which is best. If I go straight into the Honors Bachelors I'll be in a proper engineering course but I'll have to repeat a general first year again. If I go into the second year of the Ordinary degree I'll finish with 2 degrees but I'll essentially be fucked for applying for any work placements/ internships for 3 years. I'm completely lost on what to do and any advice would be great.

Bachelors degree is a scam and a meme.

Become a tradesman, you make way more as an electrician than some pleb engineer.
>>
1 extra year for a 4 year course*

I've been told that job prospects for engineer graduates are terrible in America but trust me they are very good in Ireland still.

Honors bachelors is a thing? Is hired 40+ people the past two years and never even paid attention to this. I would focus on real world experience as soon as possible. But that's just me.

An ordinary bachelors is also known as an "Associate degree" if you're more familiar with that.

In America 2 year degrees are Associate degrees. 4 year degrees are bachelor degrees and in many schools a GPA of 3.5 or above will earn you "Honors".

I don't get this

I'm starting degree called bachelor of engineering honours

I got the impression regardless of my GPA I do honours
>>
The whole honou terminology is wonky.

In Canada, you can do ordinary bachelors which is 42 credits per major or an honours bachelors which is 60 credits per major. But if yo do ordinary bachelors and you get above 3.7 GPA you graduate with honours.
Wtf.
