Ask a junior analyst at credit suisse anything
What are your hours like?
do other countries threaten you guys often
>>1019172
They are pretty long, a week can average from 50-70 a week. There is no getting around that. We are formally not allowed by the company to work on Saturdays, but Sunday is fair game.
>>1019177
I'm not sure
>>1019172
staff and work culture is very good tho (very supportive, helpful, not really cutthroat), just gets hectic when we are near closing a deal
>>1019180
That's odd. Why is Sunday fair game?
Also, does Credit Suisse have a hedge fund like JP Morgan does?
>>1019196
They want us to work as much as possible(no shit lol) and give saturdays off as more people have plans/party on saturday
>>1019196
and yes they do have a hedgefund
Your Canary Wharf office had good coffee. People were nice. Keep up the good work senpai, no complaints about CS.
UBS on the other hand...
How much do you make? Is the work any fun at all or do you want to suicide? Do you think you have a good chance at advancement?
>>1019166
How can I break into investment banking if I am from a non-target school? Should I just transfer?
>>1019279

>>1019166

>>1019166

>>1019166

>>1019180
>50-70 hours
What a cuck.
>>1019383
Should be fine for being deployed in Chiraq.
>>1020117
Presumably, being a junior analyst means he is in the first 1-2 years at his job, of course he's not making bank yet.
how'd you get yer job
>>1019383
Damn, Is the banking scene even big there ? As a non american, everything seems to be concentrated in NY in USA and LONDON in Europe.
>>1020543
CS may be different but at other firms a junior analyst is subordinate to a traditional analyst and is paid less (and usually recruited from non-target schools). If they do well they can get bumped to analyst.
>>1019166
any inside info? I presume you're not on work work pc...
Jesus christ. I'm going to ask the very expensive questions since everyone else seems to do it.
What did you study at the university?
How did you get the job?
Did you get the job through the nretworking you did in university?
How much of a target university did you attend?
How did you get into your university i.e did you have straight A's or did you have ok grades?
>>1021496
bumping for this
>>1022274
2 years is standard time frame of an analyst stint.
Considering the pay increases greatly as you climb the ladder its worth it imo(Im not OP btw)
What exactly do you analyze?
>>1019166
Hey OP, I'm a sophomore about to be interviewed by them for an IB Capital Markets summer internship.
Any advice for landing an offer? What do you like/dislike about Credit? How does it compare to its competitors?
>>1019166
OP how did you get that position? Do you only have BS in mathematics or also a MS?
Any advice for a math undergrad shitter who also wants to become le epic banker?
>>1019166
How quickly are you going to be let go when the securities crash happens?
Do you think the company will go bust?
Does the interconnectedness of markets around the world worry you?
I applied for a Creduit Suisse internship but failed one of the aptitude tests because im too dumb.
Feelsrealbadman
>>1019166
Just how dirty is Swiss money?
>>1023520
What was the test like?
>>1023520
...there's an aptitude test?
What was your background like when you applied?
Have you considered trying for a CFA?
What should I do if I want to get ibto investment banking and work for a big bank on wall street? I truly am passionate about business and finance and want to make a difference....
>>1023602
Go to a target school, get at least a 3.75 to be competitive, have 1 or 2 internships IN banking, join multiple clubs, try to play at least 1 recreational sport, maybe join a fraternity for networking (networking is very important), and have outstanding social skills and an impeccable work ethic.
>>1019166
Credit Suisse/Bloomberg say "oil will remain low for the next 5 years." Do you stand by this statement?
Wait until oil falls to $20 per barrel, then buy for the long haul?
Give us the lowdown pls.
>>1023625
How? How do I get good grades and internships? I got ok grades in high school but I was very depressed and had a lot going on in my personal lkfe, how do I get to know people and network and become the best? I truly love banking and finsnce and do want to be the best at it
>>1023625

Is it as hard to land an analyst position as they say? And if so, how can I increase my chances of getting such a job?
>>1019166

What? So you really really want to go business school? Ok... Then apply what are you here for.
>banking and finance is my passion
>I know I can do it and be the best
Are you listening to yourself? You got everything you need what's wrong with you?
is tesla doomed to make a slow shitty decline until its next big press release? it had poor sales of its model x and other luxury auto companies are suffering right now as well
>>1023670
>>1023638
Not everyone is cut out for investment banking man. I know a lot of good guys that didn't make the cut even though they had the motivation, drive, knowledge, and passion. Life isn't fair so to even the playing fields you have to hedge your future against the lows (not getting a job in IB) by getting multiple degrees and networking multiple fields. Best of luck fellas.
>>1023520
who /determinedrealist/ here?
>>1019166
