I can tell, seeing you're dumb enough to get yourself b&
I know you want to be a big boy, come back next year.
110k net worth
40k in checking/savings
30k in 401k
30k in stocks/ETFs/funds
~10k in misc sellable assets
I still feel like I fucked up by not going hard into my 401k earlier in my career or really saving strictly.
I wish I was driven enough to feel comfortable with giving up school. I can't focus on making money anymore so I'm using school as a safety net while I half-assedly trying to get a stable income stream.
Bookkeeper / IT Tech
Work as bookkeeper and tech for an small IT consulting business. Fucked around a lot before I got my shit together and decided to currently go back to school to study Accounting.
Equity Analyst/ Global Macro Strategist/ Fund Manager/ Property Investor
Assets (liquid securities) $7.5m
Assets (real estate) $12.5m

How? Invested in google, apple, xero, tesla, microsoft, oracle etc in the depths of the recession, left stock pf to appreciate while working as an analyst for credit Suisse in various overseas locations.
Initial capital started at 150k I saved/made working 80 hour weeks from 17-21, small time investments. From 150k I made $400k off one investment (pure luck), took the 400k brought, did up and sold 5 houses, made 1m net, invested 1m in equities in depth of recession. Made ~72% return pa over 5 years, by this point I had ~ $6-7m (inclu savings from work ). Used my stock pf as collateral + down payment on a central Auckland office building that was 65% leased out, after buying and spending 200k it's fully leased for WALT of 15 years. Thus causing the valuation to increase, used cash flow from this to buy another commercial building, an old warehouse that I'll convert to residential....
Sacramento, but I work in San Fransisco so I stay there during my work week.
can anyone weigh in on this for me?
I'll put it in greentext as tradition here.
>I am 28
>living in the city of Windsor, Ontario. unemployment capital of Canada
>I dropped out of engineering @ the university a few years ago
>currently living in my mother's basement, going insane and impatient
>I have to pay $2400 to go back to school
>Thinking about computer science, already have some of their courses. possibly 2 years to finish. Already know basics of coding
>any job i find, will be $10/month (I have security guard license)
What should I do? I feel like I should get in my uninsured car and drive far far away, with no money, and just start new.
Should I go back to school? Can I fake my degree or something and get a job?
/biz/ is based sometimes.
Help me make a decision please. I can't take it anymore. I haven't held my chin up for so long.
I always hold my chin up even when I know I'm going through ruff times
I don't know much about Mapleland but if you were in the US I'd recommend applying for government aid and getting an entry-level job ASAP. You seriously should at least be doing some shitty part-time gig and building a resume. Also, here you get additional gov aid if you're in school, so go to community college at least part-time.
Again, I'm not sure how much of that advice can be applied to you, but it's all I've got.
150k euros (pretty much all of it in property)
I basicly have been working for the past 10 years 6-7 days a week no social life, I am hoping in 3 years time I can buy another property and stop working, just live off rent
automation and internet marketing / photographer
around 70k in equipment
living with parents
dropped out of chemical engineering
Got a 65% scholarship for art school
paying the other 35% with my hard earned money
Transfer those courses over to power engineering if you can. Two years of school for 3rd class and then go work for nuclear, make decent money, wait for oil to pick up and go work in McMurray make $120k-$150k/year
>$60K in the brokerage
>$4K in the bank
Once I save $100K, I'm going to buy a trailer for $25-35K, figure another $25K in furnishing and buying carpentry tools. Gonna live my dream like a NEET making homemade furniture.
I dont have a car (it's a depreciating asset) + I travel in between Sydney and Auckland on a fortnightly basis, in Sydney I have an apartment in the CBD and in Auckland I have a house which is a 10min walk or $10 cab to the CBD ;)
As for watch, haven't splurged on a Patek Phillipe yet... saving.... being prudent.. + it's better to act poor than rich, get better deals!
Whatever you do, do not get a loan from Warren Buffett's Clayton Homes. They prey on the poor, minorities, aged, disabled, etc. with sneaky contracts, lies and high interest.
>I have $10m but I don't own a car because I'm such a frugal guy that I only collect money for the score.
You're a lying cunt, feeding false ideas to people yurning to succeed just because you want to feel better about yourself. It's 10 times more frugal to buy a cheap shitty car than taking taxi everyday like you're now supposed to do if you truly where in such business.
You can't even give consistency to your lies, how do you expect anyone to believe your BS and also how do you expect to succeed at anything ?
Watches are also a depreciating asset, and no don't "muh collection watch" me; then you could have bought a collection car and drive with it, but you didn't.
Now gtfo my biz
>part time audio engineer for whatever bands need in terms if services, owner of speaker and lighting company, part time storeman
>5k savings, 50k worth of gear, 1k computer and a 1k car
Mentor me senpai I live in Auckland
Where to now?
Was considering business school, my business makes a fair bit of money week to week but I want so much more.
>It's 10 times more frugal to buy a cheap shitty car than taking taxi everyday
You've obviously never lived in a first tierr city- it's not about the car cost, it's about parking costs. A garage spot in my neighborhood of Manhattan costs 450+/month. cab rides cost me <100 a month.
Oh ya, and all the people who actually have prior experience who are being displaced currently from the oilsands. Not to the kids right out of school. So its more like go to school for power engineering and in windsor its hard to even find a maintenance job. For more than 15$ an hour if you are coming out of school.

Gonna buy me a house in a few years so that I don't have to keep living with my dad like a faggot.
Wow, you're saving a shit ton. I'm going to a trade school and got into this job. Didn't work at all my first couple semesters so I'm behind in savings.
I doubt I'll stay in the electrical field, though. My back hurts like hell a lot and degenerative disc disease is common in my family. Don't think l could handle a couple more years just in hopes that I would do less grunt work and more electrical work. Hope the field works out well for you, man.
KY. Here, if you got through the trade school we have 3 years out of 6 years completed towards our J-card. I'm 2.5 years away from getting mine. Got in trade school after my junior year of high school.
Nice. Florida has something similar.
School + 8,000 logged working hours= J-card
12.000 logged working hours and nothing else=J-card
My company sends me to school for free. The only thing that sucks is going to 3 hours of class twice a week after 12 hour days. The schooling guarantees twice-annual raises, though.
If you can, make it to your Journeyman's license. It's hard work, and you said your body can't handle it, but if you make it work, you'll be a step ahead all those other methhead "sparkys" in Kentucky.
Call up a few companies and ask if they offer apprenticeship programs. If they do, go for it. If not, take the job anyway. The only way to know the best avenue of success in any industry is to become part of the industry. That's why the current state of collegiate education is so fucked up.
Link me that online license so I can tell you whether or not it's worth anything.
We don't have anything like that in Florida, but if it's on the state site, it's probably legit. Every state is different in how they regulate their contractors.
Call one of the schools on this list: https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/AMPS/ShowApprenticePrograms.aspx
and see if they can hook you up with an employer. Ask about cost of the program, length of the program, and rate of successful Journeyman tests passed by graduates.
>350k apartment fully paid, ~200k trading account, no retirement stuff or longer term investments etc. that said, i dont try to save money. i spend it about as fast as i make it.
Part time wagecuck
-28k or so (science degree, lelnojobs here and can't afford/don't want to move)
Looking to go back to school for medical laboratory technology, then hopefully I'll make decent money after a few years. Maybe get into management.
£3k in Vanguard Lifestrat.
Hey mate, is sell-side equity research actually worth staying in? Heard the salary is jack all compared to other IB divisions. Is it better to just utilise exit ops and move over to buy side or do something entirely different all together?
Inherited stocks valed at 3k
House worth 110k.
Wanna start generating some money with what I have, so I am looking at things like stocks and the like. The ones I own are domestic and worth pretty much nothing. Just three years ago they were at 10k+ and due to the recession (from which this shithole of a country never recovered) they devalued a bunch. They're PSI20 stocks btw.
I would like to start a business as well. I have all this money and a monthly income of 600-700€, which I get as long as I am a student. So I could go flip burgers and net (assuming I would be making 500 a month) 1200€.
Thing is.. My country is in shambles and I am really unsure of whether or not it would be a good idea to start a business (of any kind). My city is small but AFAIK, most of the demand for niche items and the like is satisfied.
3k in bank account, 2k in BTC, 100k in real estate
Could be worse
> Chipotle cashier

I inherited an apartment complex with my 19 year old cousin last year. We are both biz minded and save up all our cash.
>$17k in savings, $1k in 401k(only started working about six months ago and couldn't start contributing until 3 months ago)
Also guys what should I do with about $15k of that $17k?
I'm fully aware im very lucky to have inherited this property. I don't think im better than any of you..
That's just bullshit, iv been the landlord for that building for two years now learning how to run it, obviously that doesn't entitle me for anything iv received but it didn't just fall in my lap, again im FULLY aware how lucky I am.
I basically just spend all my money on drugs and nice dinners. I probably make about 50k a year but I have no real knowledge of where to invest other than dumping everything into VOO.
Technical Test Analyst (automation specialist)
$50k AUD + $10k or so in Super.
OP you should really have also asked for education and maybe even salary for more meaningful info.
Me and my wife were in the same position two years ago, and she's made 700k in two years. Loans are all locked into ibr-plsf
She's Em, hospital employed. If you are primary care you are doomed.
33 stay at home dad 150k
quick question. ill be starting at 70k out of college. anyone else in this thread start at that? just curious what someone is at with similar starting at a certain age. although that bears no correlation, just trying to set a standard for myself
