>>673368278 The universe isn't actually expanding, the speed of light is just slowing down. It seems that things are getting farther away, but in reality the speed at which they appear to us is changing
>>673366742 Not exactly a mind fuck, but I love things that give us even the slightest idea of how massive the universe is.
In the "Pillars of Creation" here, each of those tiny little finger like protrusions on the very top of the pillars would comfortably fit our entire solar system. It literally blows my mind even trying to conceptualize how big and empty the universe is.
Free thought never existed. Our brain is like a computer. It assess the situation and comes out with the "best" outcome based on variables that are really just electrical signals. Our brain is a computer
Our universe doesn't seem to have a nothing. The "nothing" is expanding so by definition is technically something. Makes sense considering that the space between things ie "nothing" was released along with all energy during the big bang. Outside of our expanding space is a place that doesn't expand and has no time. Would also be a clue for the theory of everything ppl are looking for. Also vagina is made from stars <3
>>673366742 the universe is huge. unimagiably huge. compared to the size of just the observable portion of our universe, you are smaller than a higgs-boson is compared to you. the universe is so fucking huge, theoretically this planet, you, and everyone on it could have a duplicate a few quintillion light years away.
>>673366742 Begin with the assumption that the moon is the immovable centre of the Universe. Nobody can contradict it, one simply switches the calculations over to suit. The practical objection to this is that it would not suit the work of navigators. It is imperative to have this idea in one's mind because otherwise one fails to grasp the whole spirit of modern science. It does not aim at truth, it does not conceive of truth (in any ordinary sense of the word) as possible it aims at maximum convenience.
>>673366742 Go outside tonight & hold a pea at arm's length.
Behind that pea are hundreds, if not thousands of suns that reside in this galaxy. Even further out, it's covering up hundreds of millions of galaxies & nebulae, each with billions & billions of suns, planets, and possibly lifeforms.
Because they have no size, all singularities are identical. Imagine, there is no universe. Only one single black hole, that is falling into itself. Due to gravitaional lensing, the Universe seems to exist, but it is all just a complex mirror image of that single singularity. Did you see, what I did there?
>>673366742 That over the course of billions of years, different elements have been created through the process of stellar nucleosynthesis, then scattered throughout the universe, coalesced into planetary systems, and on the only one we know of, through chemical processes, have led to the specific formation of atoms that, for reasons unknown, have the ability to contemplate their origins.
>>673369423 Computers are manifestations of our thought. Thought derived from our brains. People seem to think that machines are the antithesis of life, yet for every program written, there was a programmer staying up late typing away.
tid bit of info. upon deciding to detonate the atomic bomb it was theorized that the 4chan reaction may not be able to be controlled and thus may wipe existence of the earth.... scientist still went with the bomb :/ dafuq
>>673371831 No. You are everyone and everything that has ever existed, exists right now and will exist in the future. You are everywhere everywhen. Only your conception of identity is limited. There is no outside. There are no boundaries.
There are several thousand galaxies all moving toward an unknown point called the "great attractor". The gasseous cloud that makes up the milky way blocks our view so we have no idea what the great attractor really is.
Astronomers discovered a region of space significantly colder then anything surrounding it. It's a phenomenon called a void, and in this region about 1 billion light years wide, there isn't a single galaxy in it. We believe it might be the imprint of another universe.
Let me put it this way, if we were to be put into the direct center of this Supervoid, you wouldn't see a single light in the night sky with your naked eyes. Also you'd be dead.
YES. AS PRACTICE. YOU HAVE TO START OUT LEARNING TO BELIEVE THE LITTLE LIES.
"So we can believe the big ones?"
YES. JUSTICE. MERCY. DUTY. THAT SORT OF THING.
"They're not the same at all!"
YOU THINK SO? THEN TAKE THE UNIVERSE AND GRIND IT DOWN TO THE FINEST POWDER AND SIEVE IT THROUGH THE FINEST SIEVE AND THEN SHOW ME ONE ATOM OF JUSTICE, ONE MOLECULE OF MERCY. AND YET—Death waved a hand. AND YET YOU ACT AS IF THERE IS SOME IDEAL ORDER IN THE WORLD, AS IF THERE IS SOME...SOME RIGHTNESS IN THE UNIVERSE BY WHICH IT MAY BE JUDGED.
"Yes, but people have got to believe that, or what's the point—"
Well let me tell you about a series of events which transpired some time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
There once was a boy, Luke, who lived on a distant and hostile planet Tattooland. One day he found himself gagging on orange tentacles to pay for rent (his parents were poor losers). Whimpering and brushing tears off his cheek, he picked himself up and promised himself to never let Gor-zal near his sweet not-so-virgin asshole again. Overhearing this confidential whisper with her superior hearing, Gor-zal whipped herself into a raging frenzy, slashing Luke with her nipples. Luke was found shortly afterwards floating face down in a nearby river.
>>673372843 That's because all belief is limitation. There is no limitation, there is no outside, no separation; no matter how you try to dress up the naked truth. Drop all beliefs and see what is left.
>>673368636 I actually have the condensed scientific paper of this. My highschool physics teacher gave it to me and its a pretty cool idea but its just another theory with less proof than the big bang theory.
>>673368191 nope, entropy increases as number of microstates increases, and therefore probability of finding a duplicate of something complex approaches zero as the universe approaches infinite.>>673368236
The ultimate fate of the universe: the continued expansion of the universe will eventually result in reaching absolute zero temperature. Heat is energy and heat is defined by the movement of atoms. Absolute zero is when an atom is perfectly stationary. So someday the entire universe will reach absolute zero.
It's not by the way, it's infinite the same way the surface of a ball is infinite. it's finite the same way the surface of a ball is finite.
There is infinite multiverses, only because in the breath of a second there is a infinite possibilities that can happen, even though they're almost identical. To the point that it becomes more of a point spread of possibilities, and not really a snapshot of individual moments.
but now we're getting into probability statistics, not actual tangible worlds.
the one universe that were live in and see, is finite. It's believed so by everyone, but the most spiritual gurus, that don't talk about anything but relativity, and not absolutes.
Is the universe finite? Absolutely.
There is a limited amount of mass (e=(mc)2) in the universe.
So that's not how the universe works, that given enough time you'll see and have and heard of and anything can happen. Will Hitler be born instead of Jesus in Bethlehem on the day of year 1?
No matter how long you wait, that won't happen. You can't change the past, or the past pasts. Will we have fish swimming inside of the moon if we wait long enough? Probably not.
If you wait long enough, everything falls apart, due to the law of entropy. It doesn't work backwards, that's literally against the nature of time and conservation of energy. Things don't get created more in the future, they actually disintegrate.
Something crazy about the universe? Let's talk about Bostrom's theory of the simulation.
Imagine that there are three possible outcomes for the evolution of intelligent species in the universe.
1) No alien species has, in the history of the universe, become technologically advanced enough to create a perfect simulation of the universe. 2) One or more alien species have become technologically advanced enough to create such a simulation, but have chosen not to. 3) One or more alien species have, in the history of the universe, created a perfect simulation of that universe.
If option 3 is correct, than the possibility that we do not exist in the universe itself, but rather, in a simulation of that universe, increases exponentially. If that species decided to create such a simulation, they more than likely created more than one. And because each of those simulations are perfect reflections of our existing universe, it is likely that a simulated species created its own simulations, and so on and so on.
Following this line of thinking, there is a high probability that we exist as elements in one of these simulations, and not in the original universe it was designed after.
>>673369694 I'd say the opposite: living beings are the only things in the entire universe that resist entrophy, although for a small time. And though there are many "random" things that can happen as cells reproduce, they resist entrophy by essentially giving the materia an organised, reproducing form. And humans have free will, but lots of the stuff we do is guided by chemistry of our brains that we do not have control of
http://www.redicecreations.com/specialreports/multiverse.html 'Multiverse Theory' Holds That the Universe is a Virtual Reality Matrix
Things get interesting when the multiverse theory is combined with ideas from sub-atomic particle physics. Evidence is mounting that what physicists took to be God-given unshakeable laws may be more like local by-laws, valid in our particular cosmic patch, but different in other pocket universes. Travel a trillion light years beyond the Andromeda galaxy, and you might find yourself in a universe where gravity is a bit stronger or electrons a bit heavier.
THERE ARE MANY BEAUTIFUL WOMEN IN THIS UNIVERSE WITH JUICY CUNTS AND NICE TITS.THE CLOSEST 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% OF 4CHAN WILL GET TO THEM IS JERKING OFF OVER THEIR STOLEN PICS POSTED ON /B. THAT IS A UNIVERSAL FACT
Is it possible for conciousness to exist with attributes thought only possible in the material plane, like sight and thought? Yes. For some reason consciousness can exist beyond the means by which it was created, in order to protect itself.
>>673382499 basically because there are certain things that wouldnt happen if these dark matter/energy wouldnt exist such as the uniform speed at the galaxies rotate thats why they are called "dark", just because we cannot perceive them but they should exist
>>673382955 Consciousness has no shape or form. It's not a hard form of flat because there's a state of zero gravity zero magnetism. You don't float away or fly in the ancient plane. But it looks similar to our material plane. Its definitely not the same though.
>>673366742 In our world it may seem to be a infinite in size yet what we dont realise is that in this huge universe theres billions upon billions of different universe not just ours and for thoughs universes there are billions of other universes but to even push the idea to the edge of reality, for all of thoughs billions of universe there are billions of different dimentions and for thoughs dimentions there billions of dimentions so practicly our world and worlds for others are..... Endless
