I've been working on getting 300+ pft under the guidance and supervision of a Marine 1st sergeant. I was planning on trying to enlist in the army and get a contract for the 75th ranger regiment but the sergeant told me I should try out for marine recon and or marsoc. Not as elite as it sounds, but we did cool shit. Basically sat in bastion, all the comfort of a remf, then when the alarm went off "All BRF to compound" we had to storm the place, kit on, on a chinook in 30 mins, went to either compounds or small clusters of them to arrest targets high profile, but not high enough for SAS etc, that or get weapons caches, drugs caches, or known insurgent groups (again, good shit, but basically jobs SAS were too busy for).

Good fucking times though. All the action, non of the discomfort. Nacked a cunt with a UGL (grenade launcher) too, which was good for laughs.
