It's not likely she was on drugs, but psychosis as a result of heavy use of drugs looks very similar to the psychosis of mental disorders, I've heard.

So, that accounts for her behavior and her paranoid Tumblr posts and at least provides a guess for the elevator. But how the fuck did she get into the water tank?

It's not all that difficult to get onto the roof using the fire escapes, so that disproves the "there's no way she could have gotten onto the roof alone because the only door to it was locked" thing. Furthermore, the tank was not overly difficult to open, because maintenance workers were able to open it to check about the water complaints at the hotel. But it is claimed that the water tank was locked, though I've found no original sources for that.

Maintenance could have left it open and she could have gotten into it through that means. When they discovered her body, they could have closed it to cover their own asses.

All of this seems to provide a possible explanation for this, and it's my beliefs on the subject. Regardless of whether you believe this or not, there's no reason to start claiming it was the illuminati or occult phenomena. Elisa Lam was just a normal 20-something with bipolar disorder, so there's no reason why anyone would really want her dead that badly.

or bad people.. I think this was ether a hotel employee trying to be clever with lots of connections to the surroundings or just obscure.
