This one time my country convinced a bunch of 18+ year olds to attack a country on false pretenses. That sucked.
Then, this other time some of those 18+ year olds came home and had no assistance from the country that sent them over to battle issues they developed from being over there in the first place.
Oh, what's worse is that some of the people involved in deciding to send over these young men and women over profited from the establishment of puppet "democracies" and weapon contracts. Over all, not a good time, man.
Went to Afghanistan twice, 2007 in Kandahar and 2010 in Spin Boldek. Lost some friends and hated my life for the majority of the time. Most of the people besides the ANA were cool and the second I got back second bar around I quit
Exactly why it isn't the military.
Airforce is no different than being a G worker.
You're a civilian who works for the government.
I have more respect for the Navy than I do airforce.
11B, 3 years. Got stationed at Fort Hood after OSUT at Benning. Nothing made me miss Sandhill more than going to a POG ass Cav unit for 3 years and never deploying. Totally a waste of time. All I wanted to do was shoot some sand niggers in the face and go home. Didn't even get the pleasure.
USAF KC-135 Boom Operator for 3 years so far. Some days are good, some suck
11 bang bang
Had torn tendons in ankle
TBI from ied
Going through MEB
Doc finds bunch of extra stuff wrong with me
Get out with job making 70k per year
Mfw I make over 100k with my benefits working in an office on ft Carson
11b 3 years.
spent my career in the Scout Platoon
One tour in Kunar
Ya JTAC/TACP dudes would come with us on patrol. They were pretty much the only AF guys we respected but they were good at what they did.
REALLY live by the core values, and you'll be fine. If you ever think you might be breaking a core value, don't do it. A lot of people think the AF is a joke. Break a core value, and you'll find it's no joke.
Not only did I lose a kidney and most of my left leg in the Gulf, I probably have GWS. Fuck you Bush. Im unamerican because I dont believe in God? Fight your own goddamned war. Fucking hell.
Really sucked, but it's only a week. I suffered a stress fracture in my ankle during an exercise on the wednesday, and just had to push through to the end of the week. Happens pretty often.
Currently at McConnell, was at RAF Mildenhall last two years. You can get good or bad pilots, ones who think they're gods gift to the world or take life too seriously are a pain. Easy going crew makes for awesome flights.
Spent a semester learning about Vietnam in high school.
Still have intense PTSD.
Kind of sucks
Been stuck in AK for 3 years now
Kind of want to re-enlist for Airborne but I don't want to go to Bragg and I sure as shit don't want to end up in Anchorage
Both PJ training and combat controller are more difficult than anything the army or marine corp has to offer. I know two PJs that are SEALS now, both say PJ school was much harder.
Got mortared everyday in September
It sucked, but I made some good friends and exchanged some stories
Realized at the very least my presence is pissing off some Islamic fucktard... WORTH IT
MARSOC was made like 2 years ago because the Marines were butthurt about not having spec ops. they really don't have a mission and are just trying to horn in on SEAL's territory because they can't figure out what the hell to do.
AF does have some spec ops.
Never served, never gonna. Though I do admire the higher echelons of our military establishment.
Ground rat USAF. Medically discharged after spine snapped. Disk herniations everywhere suffered through to stay in but after extending my first 4 years to 6 to take orders to Kadena Japan....they medboarded me and through me out on my ass. 10k severence and now 13 years suffering under the VA leaves me resentfull of it all. NOT WORTH A MINUTE if you get injured in training or due to lack there of early on. IE Life ruined and don't even feel like a veteran though I am one legally. Thanks to all US Veterans for your service and I hope you're leaving goes better than my lawndart like one has.
>11B, 3 years in Germany, 1 tour in Iraq.
>When I got out and went to college I started missing it.
>Decided the reserves were a good in between.
God I hate myself.
15T for 18 months, now a crewchief shooting machine guns out of helicopters doing coolshit. But the army is still gay enough to make me hate my like over half the time
In AIT at Ft lost in the woods right now. I go to Fort Hood next monday
but so far the army is ok. I've delt with way too much bullshit in the past 5 months, but other than that its ok
im learning that my wife's experience was one of being a complete slut. she was a corpsman in the mid-90s in puerto rico. recently a old navy friend mentioned on her facebook how much fun they had and that she had a whole squad of marines off the wasp that will never forget her. turns out they gangbanged her.
Leaving for Basic Feb 3rd to Fort Jackson
>tfw 6 months AIT too
Oh well 94D seems worth the time plus I wouldn't want my training to be too concise to the point where I fuck up some ATC equipment due to ill-training yo.
>mfw I make 8 times more money than all the E4 and below here.
Ya you made the mistake of dating a military woman.
They get gang banged on the reg. One girl in my battalion fucked most of the dudes in the barracks, and eventually got kicked out once they found her post gang bang early morning saturday passed out in the quad naked covered in cum, piss and shit.
I said special forces, you fucking autists, not special ops
I'll hit 6 years in the Navy this coming March. It'd a ton of fun doing intelligence work plus our advancement is bretty gud. I just picked up IS1 from this last cycle. If I had to do it over, I wouldn't change a thing.
18 years old, all set to go to basic training in 4 months, and I find Dad in the garage having blown his head off with a shotgun. Left for basic anyway as a 12B, go to Leonard Wood, go through basic and AIT, did temporary duty in Natick MA before going to the black hole that is Fort Riley. Surprisingly, I got in with an engineer unit deploying in only 4 months, and when I showed up they had just gotten back from NTC. So I was basically as green as they come. I learned fast, did route clearance in Afghanistan driving an RG-31 for 24 hours at a time, gunning on odd days. Did several dismounted patrols as well, though luckily none of that got very messy (we were very careful). After 3 months the LT catches me having a breakdown behind the motor pool, they ship me home. Put me in therapy for a bit. My unit hated me for being sent home early and shunned me. Shortly after they declared me 70% disabled and sent me home.
>9 measly months
Try over two years of IET status, motherfucker.
this anon knows how to play the game
Lol gl, got any questions? Keep a pad of paper and a pen/pencil (inkstick now Recruit) on you at all times. When you get bored/sick of the shit just write down lists of things, you'll stay sane.
I never served for the United States Military, But i worked for the US DOJ as a security contractor...Pay was pre good, work kinda sucked seen a few things i dont want to live with other than that its been pretty boring and dull
I bet this caused alot of you freedom lovers to sign up huh?
I was actually really surprised. Expected 30% or something like that. Surprisingly, they gave me 70% for -- get ready for this -- major depressive disorder (severe). that's not to say it's not an accurate diagnosis, but, fuck...I still have all my limbs. That's more than some of my engineer buddies can say.
Thanks. It's going kind of slow. I have a brother one year younger than me, he was the one who initially found my father and woke me up to show me. The biggest challenge has been helping him.
It was gay. Moreover, the wookies who were not [traditionally] gay were already fucked by half of the platoon anyway so it did not matter if you fucked a wookie or beat off to thinking about your roommate (all 7 of them) fucking her. The same goes for all the wives and pregnant sluts out in town. As you can plainly see, the shit makes you batshit crazy. Do yourself a favor, stay the fuck away from the recruiters office
"Im so sorry I invaded your country and caused your death"
I was out the year that happened. Still near base. Girl I was with called and told me to turn on tv. I was outside jumping up and down screaming fuck them at the top of my lungs (medically discharged for cracked vertebra). The neighbors in Utah all wanted me to shut up but were afraid due to my jumping and slamming feet into concrete in anger....so yep fag I wanted back in but fuck I couldn't :(
I should've been more specific. I'm US military. But usually to fly you need to have a four year degree, no serious medical condition, no serious crime record, pass a test specifically for officers (like the asvab), and a few other things
Future meat for the grinder. This is your fate. But on the bright side he looks so happy right?
They've got me major depression due to adjustment disorder at 30pct now. Funny how going from a 15 mile hiking mountain bike rider karate and martial weapons user to a chair sitter cane walker (issued walker) causes me some small mental issues. So I feel your yeah that's not it but it fits a bit thing if I read you right.
Nigga I'm >>582521212
and you are the worst kind of person. I hate this shit and so does all of M-Div but the difference is we push through with the commitments we've made.
I don't care if you got your dolphins first, you're trash.
Leaving for Navy Basic Training in May, going to be an Aerographers Mate. I've heard its chill, how fucked am I though?
ITT: Loose lips
It's against military law to tell others troop movements. Telling others when you go basic is considered telling others troop movements.
Not trying To be a moralfag, but anything you do in life has its perks and asspains. Ammo is OK but eventually you just get bored of grunt work. The military sucks at first because you're so low rank that you get bitch work all the time. If you want to join the military, remember how you feel when you get shit on, and make sure you don't do it to your future troops. Also, if you have common sense, be respectful, kiss a little bit of ass, stay out of trouble, stay relatively fit, and go the extra mile, it's an easy paycheck. >>582522072 I am familiar with it
Should I get a degree BEFORE or during officers school/military academy?
I have no med conditions, no crime records.
I also have dickloads of money, so I can afford to pay for any training beforehand. I just have no idea who to go up to and be like, yo nigga here's $40,000 teach me how to aeroplane
Join the army kids. You'll always have a future in horror films.
Going through ROTC, been in the Army National Guard for 2 years. Im at the point where I choose to contract or not.
I don't really like the military life I have right now, is being an officer completely different from enlisted life? I want to get a MOS in IT or something. Will I hate life for 6 years after I graduate or is going officer a good decision?
You're smart as fuck for picking it. As long as advancement stays where it's at, you'll pick up rank faster than all of your peers. You're also in the Information Dominance Community so try and make the most of that.
>fail at life
>join USMC at 24
>aviation ordnance 6531
>granted voluntary early release (VEERP)
>getting out at 28 in 2 weeks
>plan using G.I. bill next fall
>didn't like it at all but the benefits and experience made it more than worthwhile
1 year left and cant fucking wait to get out this shit.
US Army is riding a fine line between a good experience or your life being ruined forever with no benefits. they should have never taken away 'corrective training' as a punishment because now it forces them to do chapter paperwork.
Friend and I drove through there that place made Hill look like high urban where to be glad to hear they have Internet or that'd be suicide central in the Chair Force I remember lol
How about the murder? that was worth while huh?
go officer so all the NCOs who actually have DONE shit and KNOW shit can make you feel like worthless shit.
also nobody respects LTs captains and majors because you're ALL retarded dispite your best efforts to try and be high speed. advice? if you go officer listen to the NCOs advice and go with their decision.
Why you fags wanna be pilots? for this doesn't happen?
Ignoring the truth makes it easier doesn't it?
Was responding to the person asking if officers where in thread. While enlisted we responded with "don't call me sir I work for a living" off base all the damn time. IE officer = hold down chair.
At least in the Army, the chances of you becoming an Aviator without going through ROTC or West Point is very slim. Aviation is a very competitive branch. Also as for the training, no amount of money you have will do anything. The Army pays for your training and you serve in the active duty for many years.
Air force is #1 child killers. Almost there son :)
Of course you don't care. You just follow orders right?
If you really want to learn combat, join the marine corp infantry. I've spent a shit load of time with both 11Bs and 0311s. The marines know security and dominance inside and out.
Damn dude, you dont even know me and you want to jump at me through the computer saying im the worst kind of person there is.... I can see you're very angry. Oh well, if you want to be a martyr Im cool with it. Some people are into that kind of shit.
Just as long as they get some of you freedom lovers too friend.
I was in for 8 years. I was with a team that went through this weird doorway thing. We looked for technology that was new or unique. We got wifi and smart phones out of it. Got shot at alot by these weird Egyptian looking guys. But they were usually slow so that made them easy targets. Retired from my 8 years with a pension. Couldn't believe it. But then I did spend a full 8 in and it was all combat so I guess they owe me.
hahaha holy shit it sounds like you were almost serious. If you were then try to go and get into Group, either SF, 160th, EOD, scuba or anything where you don't have to decide what purse you are going to bring on "deployment". hell even in a POG unit we had it harder then every airman in the North. Try setting up a base for birds to fly into only a 6 hour hike to a taliban training camp. haha weather men.
I'm an officer of 13 years. I woke up this morning at 0430, went outside, and it was too cold. I decided wasn't going to PT. Try that shit as an E-anything. I make my pawns do my work, and I make decisions. Officer is the way to go, but don't do it if you're fucking stupid.
You guys did bad in school huh?
Honestly, it's fucking tragic, but 11Bs are not combat ready as they could be. You'll think you're learning a lot, but it'll only be a tiny bit of what you get from Marine 0300 or 0311 schools. Stay alive; go in the Corp as 0300.
Don't worry about all that extra shit. Figure out if you are able to listen and take orders and not be a bitch about it. Figure out if you can think outside of the box and on the spot. Don't worry about trying to be the next Seal/Ranger/SF guy. Most guys can't conform to the military. You can always re enlist for other jobs or places or trying to get schools and shit
ITT: Edgelords who think that hating servicemen is so counter cultural and cool. Rule of thumb, if you aren't comfortable enough to walk up to those you hate in person and speak your mind, you don't really believe it
