Looking for chill electronic music. Up beat, but not rave music. Similar to this. One of the only ones I enjoy. Bonus points for music with lyrics, and uplifting, depression is killing me tonight.
As long as it's mellow and gonna make me feel better then I am now, I'm happy with it man. Keep it coming.
Tycho, Bonobo, Burial, Machinedrum, RUFUS, Rustie, Trentemoller, XXYYXX are my recommendations. Particularly Tycho and Bonobo.
Really liking this, this is chill as. Thanks.
Thanks for the list.
Just as long as it isn't terrible clubbing music or hardstyle rave music I'm sure it'll be okay.
Honestly bro, it's okay, as long as it's chill, I'm sure I'll love it. Thanks for the help. Post some songs if you like, otherwise I'm happy with it.
dude i'll hook you up - nothing like chill electronic to reflect and get outta shit moods
Blue Sky Black Death- this track always helps
shieet these tunes gives me feels sometimes
Bag Raiders - Shooting Star
M83 - Midnight City
Empire of The Sun - Walking on a Dream
They don't entirely fit the critera but they are vaguely alike
Just remember; always keep moving and things WILL get better. We're all gonna make it, bro.
>We're all gonna make it, bro.
/fit/? I really hope I make it. For some reason, I'm just feeling more depressed then usual, I hate when this shit happens. Thanks for the links btw.
This is cool man, I'm liking it.
Thanks, I'll listen to it in a sec.
I don't know any of the others, but I know he's Australian. Are the rest of them? Aussie btw. I feel as if a few of the others in this thread are.
Everything in here is making me feel better.
Yeah got his music, sick as stuff.
Is there anywhere I can download discographies of these artists? Heaps of them seem to be not too well known and are all on soundcloud.
No idea, I'm already depressed, but suddenly this afternoon a wave of it just hit me twice as hard as usual, and I have almost no motivation to move. I just want to get wasted and forget my troubles. Sounds edgy, but w/e.
was just going to say that - the whole album is fucking absolutely outstanding
anon have you heard the The Phasefire Camphead? A DJ reversed and remixed the album it's worth checking out
i usually don't post in these kind of threads because of the piss poor music taste of the avrage anon.
if you like those i can post more
I have indeed. Massive BOC fan and a Twoism forum member too.
Their whole body of work is absolutely outstanding.
I'll have to find a torrent. So much here to get haha.
So far I am enjoying it a lot, but the English guys vocals are a little annoying, but nothing I can't put up with.
I've been listening for a few years now - I hated it at first but there was something there.... now I'm absolutely obsessed as I'm sure you understand. everything You Do Is A Balloon is the one that did it for me
About three years give or take. I thought they were pretty forgetful until I found Dawn Chorus.
They made me appreciate that electronic music can be wonderful, and they actually gave 'music' a whole new meaning for me.
Because of them pretty much, most of my free time and thinking revolves around music.
I fucking love Marcus and Mike man.
Pogo - Alice: This guy is a young kid who remixes classic cartoons in a way that makes you goosebump like never before - you can't help smile and nod your head nigga
They have said in an interview that the entire reason they do what they do, is to get something infectious into the back of someone's mind. Something so personal you can't even express it properly in words.
Most people aren't open to that and don't understand what it means to really connect like that.
Closest thing I can get to spirituality really.
Are you on Twoism mate? You should really get on there if not!
I am too young to have done so, but it doesn't matter so much for me. Their music references NFBOC but it is also very timeless. Like a nostalgia for something that never even happened.
Seriously check out Campfire Headphase OP. That album helped me during a tough period in my life.
Haha yeah, I am generally a massive metalcore/deathcore person. I've been expanding my musical horizons a lot this year though.
I like the chillout sessions by Bring Me The Horizon hahaha. Nah I'll give it a YouTube mate.
Monster Rally - Sunflower: This album is mixed with an old Welcome To China Album so has all these weird chill asian instruments made into sick beats
Aphex Twin - Stone In Focus: 10 minutes of just three simple ambient chords.... but it will take you to a place outside of yourself where you don't have to think about bullshit for a period
Have you been clinically diagnosed or just feeling depressed right now?
If you have been going through this for a long time, you probably know by now, but just in case: figure out what makes you feel you down and stay away from it or just stay with the positive side (if any) of that memory/situation/moment...
Writing about it can also be helpful, if you have been through a stressful situation. Doesn't have to be here, but some sort of emotional diary can help to get your memories straight and identify sources of emotional/psychological damage.
PTSDfag here, feeling up and down lately too.
Just realised no-one has brought it up yet, have you tried the MajesticCasual YouTube channel? Or the MrSuicideSheep one (that the track I showed you was on)?
MajesticCasual also have a couple of compilations out, as well as there being a collection of all the tunes from the YouTube channel on TPB. Check it out, so much chill electronic and a couple of nice acoustic bits thrown in. (City & Colour are also great if you like acoustic)
Hey, you seem to like the same music style as me. I like tycho a lot, boards of canada, burial etc etc.But have you even tried listening to post-rock? I assure you its a step forward to electronic chill music and it has a lot of things in common with it, it transmits a lot more and makes you fly to other dimensions, like literally. I recommend you checking out "God is an astronaut" for a start, since they use lots of electronic it will be easy for you to get into them. Later, you could try listening to Mogwai. They are a really, really deep group and their older albums (come on day young, happy songs for happy people) will transmit you more than any electronic group. If you like them, then you are prepared for meeting the kings of the oniric music:Sigur Rós. Ágætis byrjun is one of the most perfect albums ever made. Calm Voices, electronic effects, guitars fading in the distance...its my favourite group of all time.
Yeah, I listen to sigur ros a bit which is post rock right? But bro, I'm primarily a massive metalcore fan. I listen to heaps of heavy as music. Just trying to broaden my horizons. Pic very related.
AWVFTS isn't post-rock. It is technically modern classical, but they don't associate with that movement.
They are fucking ace though and I had the joy of seeing them live in Brighton, UK just a week or so ago.
Their debut is one of the most beautiful things I've laid ears on.
wow a chill electronic music thread and noone has posted any Odesza yet? /b i r disappoint!
Oh ok, my bad.
They did a UK tour this month but I think it is done now.
Played Atomos in full, then Steep Hills and Symphony Pathetique as well. Adam Wiltzie spoke to us and he is awesome, really laid back and open. Made us laugh a lot :) and I came out of there astounded. I haven't been able to get the music out of my head ever since!
MrSuicideSheep, Fluidified, Apstract, Beauty Tunes, Chillhop Official, Electro Posé,Erik McMahon, Majestic Casual, OnlyChillstep
One of the best chillstep/liquid dnb YT channels and more.
I have all of their music, but I honestly haven't given it a listen yet. Heard maybe one or two songs, I listen to a fuck load of bands though. I'm sure I'd listen to something you listen to.
They've got a really 'big' sound live. It fills up your ears, and trust me you don't realise how much bloody impact violins have until you experience them live. Completely uplifting.
I had maybe one beer that evening but felt completely drunk. Everyone was just sitting there with their mouths open. They didn't move at all.
Very special stuff.
holy fuck OP I forgot about Cyril Hahn! He's a Vancouver DJ by way of Sweden or some shit and he does magical remixes check this shit out
Please Don't Say You Love Me - Gabrielle Aplin Remix
heres some moar 4 u guiz
Oh well, I pirated their music because I am poor as fuck, so don't tell them that hahaha. I'm sure they know people do it. From what I have heard, they're quite talented though. I'd love to be friends with a big band! Jealous mate.
You know, it is times like this where I wish that this whole thread was on a normal forum. So you could get to know people through their usernames. 4chan is quite freeing in some ways, but everything just disappears after a day and that's it. Gone.
If you get the chance, do it. Just do it.
Now I just need to see BOC and Michael Hedges and my 'required listening' will be done.
Unfortunately, the former may never do so ever again (but hey, there is a chance). The latter is dead, so yeah.
Often it's not just the fact that it costs money, it's the fact that it's so much more convenient to download any artist you could ever, ever want on your computer, instead of travelling all the way to the store to get it, or picking and choosing online on iTunes or something.
Yeah I've got a couple of vinyls, also bought a double pack of Brand New CD albums because they're my favourite band, but that was years ago haha.
I got drunk a few years ago and bought a Tegan & Sara vinyl boxset too, no idea why.
Fantastic venue, and yeah Camden is pretty 'whatever' when it comes to drinking and stuff, no-one really cares. Love it.
Check out the Wilfred Giroux remix of that, so good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrxbxOhqn00
I've seen them a couple of times now, last time was a few months ago at the Troubadour. Opened with Shower Scene, life totally made.
Haha. My collection is small tbh.
I did something similar though and went on a discogs spree while I was pissed. Luckily it ended well, because I ended up getting Rumours, a Tangerine Dream album, and Michael Hedges' first two albums.
I mean that is a pot of gold. I could've ended up with, hell idk, everything by Simon and Garfunkel or Gong or something.
Sure, that's cool man, I don't mind a bit of hardcore, I listen to pretty much all kinds of music, so it's all good. Been obsessed with Rise Against lately actually. Punk, but not too heavy.
get some real music into you
holy FUCK I have to be up in a couple hours..... fucking music. hope all the links helped out OP anyhow; keep moving forward brother
One more: Boards Of Canada - Reach For the Dead
Chrome Sparks (obsessed with him currently)
Little People (this album is banana pants)
Also, Chet Faker:
Toro y moi. Download one of his albums. Pogo mixes some ultra friendly songs, disney sound effects and that..
FUNKY, GROOVY, CHILL, ELECTRONIC, 80S,90S, DISCO, BASS GUITAR
May i recommend 'music is math' by BOC
New Justin Faust album is very uplifting
Hey mate, Don't know if this is what your lookin fer but it's nice anyway. You'll pull through.
What a brilliant thread. Thanks people!
