I was in that scene too. But those were commercial permitted events. The OG raves were underground where you had to know people and know whats up to find them and get in. In those days noboby could even dream of going to a party at the Coliseum in LA or Las Vegas.

I raved from the late 80s to the mid 90s and then stopped for 10 years. My first modern day rave was in 2002 and I could see how much the scene had changed and been commercialized. It was still fun but lacked the edge and outlaw feel of the old school raves. But after about 06-07 the scene really went a steady decline to what its become today.

its more about the chemicals they are using, some are extremely harmful even at an extremely small does, so if you get pills with newer versions of synthesized bullshit analogs you might get the same feeling if you take 1 pill of that as you do actual molly, but if you take 2 or 3 in a night you could OD. granted those chemicals are rare, but not worth the risk for 10$ a pill. you'd be surprised what you find out when you test your friends "Molly" thats totally "legit" and "really strong". better safe than sorry, plus its way less harsh on your brain and body so the recovery time is a lot faster
