As far as setup is concerned, just make sure you have enough airflow / ventilation. That's something that a lot of first time growers don't look in to enough.

Are you planning on growing traditionally in pots / soil or using a hydroponics setup? If you're undecided, I highly recommend hydroponics.

My last crop out on four plants yielded just over a pound of herb using a hydroponic setup, compared to a grow a friend managed (in a different room of the same house) which was traditional soil which yielded only about 3/4 of a pound.

It's not to say hydroponics is entirely better as there are benefits and downsides to both, but it's definitely something to look in to if you're a first time grower. Learning hydro growing methods right out of the gate will be quite useful.

Yeah, I'm still undecided on that. Was planning on doing soil just for the sake of going at a slower pace that way I could get used to dealing with sick/nourishment imbalanced plants. From what I can tell there's just a bit more room for error in soil, although I'd love to go hydro right off that bat, it looks complicated but that would just be more interesting.

Unless you know exactly what you're going to get, I'd recommend purchasing from a dispensary, or online.

You don't want to get stuck with non-feminized seeds from four different strains or something like that, it'll just ruin the whole experience of a first grow (and the crop, on top of that.)

Also, I'd recommend nothern lights x haze for your first grow. Has a fast growing time, high yield, and manageable plants. Also very easy to correct mistakes on, as it is less "sensitive" than some other strains.
