This album is pretty good for mellow 60s psychedelic. What's weird is the lead singer sounds almost exactly like Johnny Mathis but somehow he pulls it off. No heavy guitar, lots of sweeping strings and acoustic guitar. Listen to it for free on Youtube or something first. Especially "The Red Telephone."

Well, if someone is making art for money, I don't think they aren't making art. Isn't art supposed to just be a perspective someone has on life turned into an inspiration to recreate it? So, you could say that art is pretty much just a reflection on the mind and how it thinks about certain things, and anybody who wants to openly monetize a human thought process is a fucking asshole. Some easy songs you don't need crazy effects for are Half-full glass of wine, Mind Mischief, Bold arrow of time and elephant. Just have the gain on your amp on 6-ish and add a compressor.

If you wanna get into the wavy chord shit like in most of their songs, you're gonna need a lot of things.

Usually reverb, delay, vibratone and a phaser.

Sort of psychedelic, their riffs mostly feel like an endless astral plane. Quite heavenly on shrooms.

Mind Mischief, Feels Like We Only Go Backwards, and EmNothing That Has Happened So Far Has Been Anything We Could Control are my favourite tracks.

Try listening to Black Moth Super Rainbow's album "Eating Us" "Dandelion Gum" and "Cobra Juicy". Tobacco's solo shit is a trip.

And it's customary to check out Animal Collective. I liked "Merriweather Post Pavilion" and "Centipede Hz".

These are all more modern bands that I would consider psychedelic.
