Bands that sounds all psychedelic and feel good. Tame Impala's hands down 10/10
fucking tame impala man, haven't been listening to anything else these last couple of weeks.
What's your favorite songs? Mine probably Apocalypse Dreams, Alter Ego and Why don't you make up your mind.
This album is pretty good for mellow 60s psychedelic. What's weird is the lead singer sounds almost exactly like Johnny Mathis but somehow he pulls it off. No heavy guitar, lots of sweeping strings and acoustic guitar. Listen to it for free on Youtube or something first. Especially "The Red Telephone."
everyone has a preference anon. try listening to Feels Like We Only Go Backwards by them.
Oh I do actually like that song, I was trying to listen to the album and it just wasn't striking a chord with me for some reason.
Here's my personal favorite at the moment.
prepare to have your ears fall off in front of Harmonium's superiority
ITT: Pitchfork-core "indie" psychedelia.
>cumon steppit up
Well, if someone is making art for money, I don't think they aren't making art. Isn't art supposed to just be a perspective someone has on life turned into an inspiration to recreate it? So, you could say that art is pretty much just a reflection on the mind and how it thinks about certain things, and anybody who wants to openly monetize a human thought process is a fucking asshole. Sure, to the victor go the spoils. If you make great art and get paid, awesome, but keep in mind that most of those people are actually trying to expound on their thoughts (at least at first) instead of trying to beef up their wallets.
It's really fun man.
Some easy songs you don't need crazy effects for are Half-full glass of wine, Mind Mischief, Bold arrow of time and elephant. Just have the gain on your amp on 6-ish and add a compressor.
If you wanna get into the wavy chord shit like in most of their songs, you're gonna need a lot of things.
Usually reverb, delay, vibratone and a phaser.
You should get something like this. (sounds off because i dont have a vibratone and shitty vocaroo recording)
>explaining thought without resorting to petty insult
Pick one, faggot
and if you wanna get that crazy solo tone, just crank the gain on the amp and add fuzz
Again sounds shit because of vocaroo and mic but it sounds pretty good in real life.
You're right anon, leaving personal thoughts about something totally unexplained is a very respectable personality trait. Or maybe you're actually too dense to form coherent, thoughtful opinion on a given topic?
Yeah, anon, you totally understand this thing called "life" completely.
Sweet Valley - Eternal Champ
look up 'ott' the album 'mir' is very nice
Sort of psychedelic, their riffs mostly feel like an endless astral plane. Quite heavenly on shrooms.
Mind Mischief, Feels Like We Only Go Backwards, and EmNothing That Has Happened So Far Has Been Anything We Could Control are my favourite tracks.
Try listening to Black Moth Super Rainbow's album "Eating Us" "Dandelion Gum" and "Cobra Juicy". Tobacco's solo shit is a trip.
And it's customary to check out Animal Collective. I liked "Merriweather Post Pavilion" and "Centipede Hz".
These are all more modern bands that I would consider psychedelic.
DIIV, Always a fave.
Tropical psychedelic latin feelin'
BOMBA ESTEREO cosita rica
they sound a little bit like Wild Nothing. Listen to them
They're actually on the same label lol
Fuckin love both bands.
Check out beach fossils:
My friends and I dropped some acid to celebrate Tomorrow's Harvest releasing.
I haven't heard the album before or after that day and I don't remember any of the music, but I remember that it was a fucking great ride and I highly recommend it.
