>>565678190 About two days ago, I left home in St. Louis. There are a lot of reasons. The one I originally went with was the one most people reference: When I was 13, I got frisky with a 13 year old girl. In MO, anyone who has sexual contact and is under 14 is raped. So, by MO laws, we committed statutory rape on each other. We broke up, she told her parents, they took it to the police. The police said that there wasn't any actual raping going on, we were just two stupid teens. But, the problem was that I did try to go all the way with her, and she said "no". But I was already on top of her and just went with it, and ignored her (I had just gone from a tiny private school to a massive public school, and my only experience with females was from porn-- specifically hentai, where they say "no~!" all the time). I confessed to that, along with a bunch of other shit I did, to a friend, who then threatened to take the info to both the police and everyone I knew. I bailed that night.
I left both to get away from that and to fucking /do/ something. I was posting in a suicide thread, someone said to just pick up some shit and go, so that's what I did. I'm now almost 700 miles from home.
>>565679097 "by MO laws, we committed statutory rape on each other" I highly doubt that. Missouri has a fucked legal system...but not that fucked.
"But I was already on top of her and just went with it, and ignored her" Then, you did rape her.
"When I was 13" You look 7+ years older now. Why is this just coming up now?
For those reasons, I'm assuming this isn't real unless a timestamp that doesn't look like it came out of paint can be posted.
"I was posting in a suicide thread, someone said to just pick up some shit and go, so that's what I did." Ignoring my assumption, good. This is better than suicide. Do you still want to do anything with your life?
>>565679720 Well, to be honest, the whole police-thing was really more of an excuse to leave than anything. I could have just pled the fifth and gotten by. I think I wanted to do something unreasonable and drastic.
>>565679783 I'm currently in a McDonalds in Little Rock, Arkansas. I bought a ticket for a bus to New Orleans that leaves at 6:15 tomorrow morning.
If you go broke don't be afraid to go to dumpesters people here throw away great food. Just don't be dumb about it and look for signs of rot and what not. If you ever end up in Idaho and need a place to crash for a night email me [email protected]
>>565680008 Actually, that really is how it works. The case almost went to court, but they froze it on the grounds of a lack of evidence of actual rape. They said that teenagers do stupid shit all the time, and as long as I stayed clean until 18, I'd be good. But the new development scared me a bit. But, no. I didn't rape her-- I admit that I tried to, but I had no idea it was rape at the time. I wasn't thinking in the slightest, it was my first sexual encounter. Also, as to looking older, I've been letting my beard grow out intentionally. I simply look older than my age.
>>565680394 I've got friends in New Orleans who've agreed to help me out. I'm planning on at least being out and about for a while, staying there for some time (no clue how long), and either A) asking to go back home or B) just drifting for a while. I've met a lot of really nice people on my way, and a lot of pricks; I was offered a job on two separate occasions. I dunno how it will play out.
>>565680667 I'm not making money-- I brought all I had, just under $250, with me. I've since been given some handouts (along with two knives, one of which was a switchblade, a bunch of free non-perishable food, a bag to carry more shit, and a mini copy of the New Testament), and I've got about 60 bucks left. I'm planning on doing anything I have to in New Orleans to start making money again.
>>565680913 Yeah dude, grocery stores have to throw away shit after x number of days. If you look in grocery store dumpsters there is literally months worth of perfectly edible food still in its origional packaging. About 1/4 of american food reaches the expiration date and is just thrown away
>>565682238 If one were to sneak behind me and press X/Square/[insert your hotkey here], you would find the following:
A small stack of notecards, about 20 My laptop, with charger iPhone 4, with charger Several pens, pencils, and a knockoff Sharpie 3x bags of pre-popped Boy Scout popcorn (cheddar and sour cream) 3x cans of green beans 2x large bags of trail mix A half-full Orange gatorade bottle, 32oz A small manual-open pocketknife, with polyester case My old shitty 2004 flip phone, with battery and charger, no SIM card I'll be getting rid of these soon, but I have a signs reading "Little Rock", "New Orleans", and "Los Angelas" from when I was hitching. My 3DS XL with Soul Silver, Black, Black 2, Pearl, and X version Pokemon games (also has a charger) About 17 dollars in dollar coins and 43 dollars in cash A Nike sweatshirt that I've been wearing off and on the whole trip A pair of khaki shorts, wore them the first day and spilled a shitton of gatorade on them on accident (I air-dried them before bagging them) Two T-shirts 4x pairs of socks 2x pairs of boxers 1x 4-inch switchblade 1x bus ticket to New Orleans 1x stick of deoderant 1x toothbrush 1.8x small tubes of toothpaste 2x shaving razors I'm carrying everything in my small red shoulder pack, my gray full-size backpack, and a blue duffel bag.
>>565683373 It's an iPhone 4 with no SIM card. Works like an iPod Touch.
>>565683853 Not a troll. I'm off to New Orleans, where I'll pick up work at first; from there, I might do all sorts of things. I could stick around and get my GED, I could try to get back to STL, I could potentially enroll late into a public school (it would be easy to recover, just for a diploma). I know I'll have to pick up a Social Security card and that I'll have to request a copy of my birth certificate anyway.
>>565684107 I got lucky and slept in a McDonalds in Springfield last night, the manager had apparently done something similar once. She let me stay there through a large storm that blew over, and I got a few winks in. I plan on staying up all night tonight, and then sleeping on the bus tomorrow.
>>565684367 So let me get this straight OP. The only evidence against you vis a vis the rape incident is the girl's own testimony and that of the "friend" you confided in, who's now blackmailing you. Is that correct, or is there more?
>>565685241 haha no no. Either walk backward down the highway in daylight so people can see you. They will pick you up if you are moderately attractive and dont look like you will rape them. Or walk around and meet people and find out if they are traveling. Obviously rest stops are good places to try. I always tried to approach people my age, (college age). And to be honest, finding ugly fat bitches your age, flirting with them and getting a ride will almost always work. As long as you don’t actually fuck them, you are good. Just using them lol
>>565685550 Yeah I've never had much luck with truckers. Only one of the few thought I was a girl and was the only reason he let me hitch, after I got in he realized. This was also when I was 16 and hadn't cut my hair in 3 years and took poor care of it.
>>565686426 Thank you. I just might end up writing something, we'll have to see.
>>565686608 I've done the backward-highway routine, that's how I got from The-Middle-Of-Fucking-Nowhere, Arkansas to Little Rock. But I guess I was just having bad luck asking around rest stops, because everyone seemed to either A) not like me or B) be going the opposite direction.
>>565686859 Well, I suppose that's one way for things to work out.
>>565687017 I've got friends in New Orleans; they've offered to help me out. If that doesn't work, though, I probably will go down to Florida. Or maybe to California, a few /b/rothers have recommended it.
>>565688738 I would like to leave the country someday-- Europe sounds nice, but I'm also considering hopping into Canada. And no, it isn't a goof. The whole point of the "personal journey" aspect is that I stop lying.
>>565689339 With all of the awesome comedians that have come from Canada, I almost feel obligatd to make my way there. I've never been further west than Springfield, so there's a whole new world to explore out there.
>>565693181 You're offering to pay my bus fare from New Orleans or Little Rock to southern California. That will be a ridiculous sum. And then, you're doing it to "cuddle" with me. I'd still go, but it doesn't sound like the safest of places.
You are going to get robbed and hurt in NOLA. Your best bet is to head straight west to Los Angeles. Once you get there there are two places you need to go: first go to Hollywood by yourself during the day and check everything out. When you are done with that, hop the buses if its still the same I believe its the 3 to the 33 and go to Venice. There have always been bands of squat punks and cool streetwise cats out there. I packed a bag and just went to Venice when I was 22, best and craziest experience I've ever had. Just watch out for the cops and shady dudes in L.A., and for God's sake, make a smiley (tie a lock to a bandana and keep it easily reachable in a pocket). Godspeed, OP... faggot.
>>565695248 Why would I need a "smiley"? It sounds like a weapon. And the thing about NOLA is that these friends live in one of the better parts of town and have offered me a place to stay with them. They're rather wealthy-- I mean, they ARE Jewish-- and I think I won't be in too much danger.
If its anything like airports, I'd just buy the ticket online, in your name, and you'd redeem it at the train station using a code. you might have to download the virtual ticket on to your ip(h)o(d/ne) and they'd scan it at the station. according to the amtrak page, you can do that as long as the barcodes emailed to ya.
>>565695636 Fuck yeah it's a weapon. what are you, stupid? I'm going to guess that either you're a troll or you're 18 and don't know shit about shit and think that Greyhound and train stations are just full of nice people. 10 years ago If I was in a train station and you walked in with a bag that I wanted I would probably just stab you and take it. You got a lock, you can smash my fucking teeth in before I stick ya, see?
>>565695636 I don't know if this might help or not. Must have been around 2001 i got my discharge from the army. Moved back home and long story short i ended up traveling and ended up in new orleans. Was pretty much a homeless street kid till about 2004. A smiley was pretty fucking necessary. I can't tell you how many times that shit came in handy bud. Between the niggers (they. are. EVERYWHERE.) the wierdos, and other street kids.. yeah dude. Don't ever show your knife. Don't ever let anyone know you have one. If you can get a hold of a gun i would recommend it. New Orleans is a nasty place. It is hard to get work. Most fags will try to rape you after being kind to you. Don't take any drugs or drink with strangers. Avoid the NOPD like your life depended on it. If you can try to find a job. Plenty of bars and restaurants willing to hire if you don't look like a total homeless piece of shit. If you make it somewhere working to where you can actually maybe go out and have a few drinks i highly recommend trying to get in good with a stripper. They have money and drugs and will put you up wherever they live as long as they arent fucking some other pos. laissez les bons temps rouler kid. Oh and 611 N. Rampart Street is still drop in center. They can help you out getting on your feet. Don't know if they still let kids hang out there till the early evening and give you an address/phone to use for looking for work. Be very careful with the street kids there. Don't trust anyone. Good luck faget.
>>565699459 I don't plan on doing any drugs or drinking, and I already avoid most other people like the plague in general. A smiley is now very high on my list, and I'll keep the knife under wraps. This is sound advice-- thanks.
>>565701808 The whole place smells like piss. I didn't think it was that bad, but that's the biggest complaint I heard from others. Bourbon St. is the hot spot, and is where marte gras takes place. I doubt it's super active now, but during the spring it will be bonkers. You can't do much there if you are under 21 though.
