Anime thread, cause /a/ is for fucktard weebs.
I'm kinda new to the genre, only watched it on toonami before, except a short phase in fourth grade of dragonball n bleach.
All of the sudden, about a month ago, whilst in perpetual boredom, I found Kill La Kill and have indulged in anime since.
So, general anime thread.
Will also be dumping some Kill La Kill r34.
I feel ya. I love me some anime, but there're so many weeb as hell people.
Check out Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood if you haven't already, it's one of my favorites.
(if you get past the angst)
>Will also be dumping some Kill La Kill r34.
It's the one I'm working on right now. Today i believe i watched s2e6, so that's where i'm at.
edgy isn't the word i'd use. I looked at it as exploiting anime tropes similar to how Gurren Lagaan did. it's pretty fuckin brilliant in a way if you ask me. reminded me of how tarantino exploited western and samurai movie tropes in kill bill instead of making fun of em
Excellent, A few other good ones would be Ghost in the shell, SAO (kind of very weeb-ish but not so much that I couldn't enjoy it) Attack on Titan is pretty good, real brutal, reminds me of Game of Thrones in the character death scheme.
Cowboy bebop is cool if you like the idea of cowboys in space and think smoking cigarettes is cool (Like the era it was made in) Can't really think of much else off the top of my head.
some of the ones on this list tho.
cowboy bebop is certainly on my list. I watched Attack on Titan, liked it a lot. One that really stuck with me was Eden of the East
Given the context he used it in, I'm convinced he doesn't know what it means.
I've heard a lot of reasonable excuses for not liking KLK, but edgy doesn't even begin to make sense.
It's pretty great. It makes ya' think, good social commentary, and a really intriguing blend of grittiness with casualness
What do ya'll think of Spice and Wolf? I saw the first two episodes, and i saw potential, but it never really became anything i wanted to stick to. Should i continue?
>Disgracing Matoi Ryuko
>Being a closet weeaboo
>Calling out a shitty board on the shittiest board there is
You really don't know how to use that word, do you? Edgy is doing something that people would think as a sort of taboo or just stay far away from. Having crazy animation does not fall under that definition,
kill la kill and anyone who watches it is/are absolute fucking trash
>I said that word once faggot
top fucking kek, newfag spotted
Darker Than Black

I loved it, but if you're actively in to pleb tier shit it's probably not for you.
There won't be a shit ton of fanservice and action sequences.
It's vry srs
Danny Phantom. A mod of another flash adding some options. It's a little glitched though.
I wasn't totally serious about the pleb shit
Fanservice never mattered to me
Eden of the East was fairly serious. Is it more so? Not that that is bad.
You could torrent anime 24/7 and not get so much as one cease and desist.
Don't watch brotherhood
The original anime is much
Brother hood is so overly drawn out and slow compared to the old one if you want a really exciting story gutted of a bunch of boring shit watch the first one
Alright, you're just trolling now kid.
Not worth replying to this retard anymore.
dafuq does this have to do with anything, go away
It can get a bit droll if you don't pay attention.
I honestly hated it the first time I watched it when I was younger.
The story is very well told and if you're in to feudal politics this is exactly what you want to watch.
It just takes some patience.
ATTENTION if you liked Black Lagoon watch Jormungand! its only 2 seasons but its really good
I don't. I've heard brotherhood is better, sampled each, and i appreciate the slowness of brotherhood enough that i decided to go on the people's word.
neato. i'll go back to it after im done with fma brotherhood
haven't heard of either. elaborate.
Pleb shit is fine too.
Don't even let the weeabs bullshit you, they like at least a few shows that are just flat out silliness.
Same as anything, my gf is a film major and an indie movie buff who also happens to enjoy over the top action sci-fi flicks.
Fun things are fun.
don't die on me, thread. I STILL WANT ANSWERS
not to mention KLK has a sick as fuck soundtrack. i love that shit. same composer and singers as attack on titan
Some good animes
>Darker than Blacck (season 1)
I'm to drunk to remember anymore
Isn't Samurai Champloo made by the people who made bebop? The only reason i kinda strayed away was cause the art style. as cause of the word "champloo"
If you want a bitchin' soundtrack you should watch Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt.
Outside of Bebop it's probably the best OST ever.
I can tell from the fucking soundtrack cover that this show might do a bit TOO much fanservice. Unless it's a straight up hentai but what do i know.
Also out of KLK rule 34
Many scenes in this flash, ends with cum (goo?) swallowing.
>Some people take the "pleb" shit to seriously
It's because they tie taste to every aspect of their humanity.
>I-if I like something stupid then that would mean I'm stupid
PSG is like South Park meets Powerpuff girls.
It's hilarious, and even more over the top than KLK.
The animation style means that most of the fanservice is for humor though.
KLK had great potential, great music and characters, but it went to shit during the school raid arc, and almost recovered, but not all the way
pretty mediocre to me, considering how awesome i thought it was going to be
that doesn't stop me from listening to before my body is dry or bluemankranz every once in a while though
people shit on it because it's entry level stuff and not the best anime out there, so it raises alarms when people praise it like the best thing ever
think if someone was praising the new cod, it's like that
also op seems like he doesn't like to lurk, so /a/ will hate him, kill la kill already has a bad rap from /v/ shitposters too, but /a/ is shit anyways, lel
I feel like you guys think I'm dissing KLK, I'm not, I fucking love that show. And he's right, the soundtrack is baws. It's easily one of my top animes.
PS: I'm saving that picture and putting it on my RT profile, you can't stop me.
Oh wait, i actually found more, shit. Christmas time
>Kill la Kill
Is it any surprise as to why you're not welcome on /a/?
Kissanime.com is the best place for anime. It's consistent, has better quality translations, uses youtube player so you can choose the resolution, and it's free unlike that bullshit crunchyroll.
ah, good, good. i'll add it to my list
i never got too deep into the pros and cons. i knew it was trying hard after that arc, though, i was just too pumped to care. Blumenkranz is one of my favorite songs now
Why would I wanna be welcom at /a/utism General Hospital?
daily reminder that JoJo is best animu
The whole show revolves around traveling and trading, and it digs into such pretty thoroughly. I know an anime based around economics sounds lame as fuck, but the dialogue between the two keeps everything interesting.
There's a bonus if you're actively into economics, but most people end up liking it regardless.
I wouldn't recommend it as an introductory to anime, but I'd definitely advise that OP watches it at some point.
btw OP you should consider making a back-log of shit to watch.
waifu threads and Oreimo*
/a/ is shit.
/a/ has pretty shit taste. As a fan of KLK, you'd fit right in.
Here you go.
I downloaded the blu-ray pack with all the special features and shit.
Sanitary Box was pretty disappointing though.
SAO, AOT, and hellsing ultimate.
>contradicts self to get in a subpar insult
I've only seen the first few episodes of the original anime, and I agree.
> mom dies
> fail to resurrect her, and get a disgusting corpse instead
> lose arm and leg(?)
> destroy little brothers body
Fucking brutal man.
But there are KLK threads on /a/, anon.
I never said that /a/ had decent taste.
They contradict themselves all of the time.
>Claims that moe is killing anime
>Watches and supports haremshit
>begs for original concepts in anime
>won't watch anything that lacks cute waifu-material grills.
It's full of fucking tosspots.
The flash has different facial expressions.
I dunno what the fuck I just watched but I loved every second of it
This list is great. I would also HIGHLY HIIIIIIIGHLY recommend Lupin III Series 1. It's a wonderful anime from the early 70's about a man named Lupin III, a master thief who pulls off crazy capers every episode with a kooky cast of characters. It's dark, strange, and really funny. The animation isn't the best, but it's incredible for 1970. And it's better animated than most anime anyways. If nothing else, the designs are highly detailed and every character looks and moves great. And if you like Spirited Away, Miyazaki worked on most of the episodes past episode 9. Anyways, check it out on Kissanime, because they have the blu-ray rips with high quality subs and touched-up picture. It's always a fun ride every episode just watching Lupin and his gang getting into crazy shit.
Calm down cockmongler. Keep your horribly wrong opinion to yourself.
My shitty top 5.
Darker than Black for the characters.
Spicy Wolf for the economics.
Welcome to the NHK for the self deprecation
Serial Experiments Lain because 2deep4u
Nearly every Mobile Suit Gundam series because i'm an autist who likes watching robots punch other robots.
I don't mean to come off as some sort of elitist but I really couldn't get into KLK. It's just everything that I loathe in animaymay. Fanservice, shit plot, and the general "humor".
Fun is fun, but sometimes I want something that tells a decent story. KLK wasn't that for me.
Yeah Lupin the III is one of my favorites.
I torrented the whole series, which is what I would recommend.
Doesn't really matter at all. It was great, but FMA Brotherhood blows it out of the water.
Unless you like nazis, though. Then go ahead.
Shrug, I wasn't really drawn to it for any of those. I just liked Ryuko, and liked the story (I know it made no sense, but it was interesting in a weird, totally retarded way. Like the Expendables.)
>first ones story made absolutely no sense
>first one has the yoki story and a whole bunch of other stories that waste time and have nothing to do with the anime
>first one had the shittest ending ever
Albeit Brotherhood lost the drama and darkness appeal and tried to do comedy (which it fails at) it was much better, had better pacing, had better story, followed the manga, and had an amazing ending
Well I guess we just watch anime for different reasons, then.
Maybe i'll sit down and give it another try.
Another great anime to watch would be JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012). I don't really know how to describe it in a short fashion, since the focus of the show changes every season. The first season is a bit of horror mixed in with over-the-top action in Victorian England. The second season goes all out with the Fist of the North Star action, except with Nazis and vampires in America and around the world. The third season is a globe-trotting adventure. It's a wonderful, beautifully animated, well-written ride. All of the characters are memorable and fun, and the story is always engaging. There's no filler, just a great story. And if it helps any, the manga was so good, the Louve (that snooty museum in Paris that has all those famous paintings) has a JoJo story on display. Cause it's that good. I'd recommend finding a torrent of the blu-ray and downloading all of it. The blu ray has the most accurate subs. Otherwise, go to Crunchyroll.
what is this meme? i see it pop up now and then, but i can't read moon
yu yu is still great
/a/ agrees, /v/ agrees
haven't seen serious hate on it
large eyebrows are attractive
Trouble is, all animes are crappier than their Manga equivalents. Claymore? Crappy Anime. Mahou Sensei Negima? Crappy Anime. Rosario+Vampire? Seriously, this manga has some of the most emotional moments I've ever read. The Anime is two seasons of panty shots and no character development.
One I actually really liked, that I can recommend, is season one ONLY of Strike Witches. It's cute, it's kinda pointless, but it has a plot to a certain extent, and it's got magical animal girls named after famous fighter aces fighting aliens with guns as large as their bodies.
Yeah, it's pretty awesome. Awesome music, too. Like this song...maybe it's just that the scene it first appears in was freakin' awesome, but I love this song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4ZWYoQuShY&index=5&list=PL6A17D3D4EFC3DE11
Shes best big sis, and everyone needs a good big sister
I wouldn't say worse. It's hand-drawn, so it looks rougher. Studio Bones, the guys who also did Brotherhood, put a lot of love into that. They just didn't have the budget for their Cowboy Bebop-like animation. Cause they made that, too.
I WANT TO THANK THE COURT OF APPEALS FOR REVERSING YOU YOUR HONOR.
I can't remember the exact words but it was something like "Walking under the rain with my girlfriend gives me a lot of pleasure", or something like that.
THIS, I RECOMMEND Ruroni Kenshin and Yu Yu Hakusho. And if you like Yu Yu Hakusho, check out HunterxHunter 2011. It's by the same guy. And just as good. Kenshin is a period piece that I've only read one volume of, but it's pretty damn good, so the anime should be pretty damn good. And Yu Yu Hakusho is about a boy that dies, but heaven and hell don't really want him, so he becomes a spirit detective. Fuck yeah.
RIGHT /B/ IS FOR LEE JUN/
KEEP IT PURE RIFK
One last thing I'd recommend is anything by Tezuka. Anything. He's awesome. All his work is heavily influenced by 1930's and 40's American animation and comics, most notably Carl Barks's Scrooge McDuck comics.
After you've watched a few animes, I suggest watching Neon Genesis Evangelion 1-24 and then End of Evangelio. No anime list is complete without this series.
I DON'T THINK SO.
RIFK ALL DAY
Scene in http://swfchan.com/28/137664/?Bleach+Futanari.swf
There are several others, pretty long animation.
Whats so good about Cowboy Bebop? I watched all of it and none of the episodes really stood out to me, none of them were over the top amazing, I'd say all of them were just decent, just like the series. The ending wasnt even good.
Nani?? He was fun but not best
Also, for anyone interested in watching this. You don't know what you're getting into. You can't prepare for this. It could be just me, but I had nightmares for a few days and trouble sleeping after watching this.
