Excellent, A few other good ones would be Ghost in the shell, SAO (kind of very weeb-ish but not so much that I couldn't enjoy it) Attack on Titan is pretty good, real brutal, reminds me of Game of Thrones in the character death scheme.

This list is great. I would also HIGHLY HIIIIIIIGHLY recommend Lupin III Series 1. It's a wonderful anime from the early 70's about a man named Lupin III, a master thief who pulls off crazy capers every episode with a kooky cast of characters. It's dark, strange, and really funny. The animation isn't the best, but it's incredible for 1970. And it's better animated than most anime anyways. If nothing else, the designs are highly detailed and every character looks and moves great. And if you like Spirited Away, Miyazaki worked on most of the episodes past episode 9. Anyways, check it out on Kissanime, because they have the blu-ray rips with high quality subs and touched-up picture. It's always a fun ride every episode just watching Lupin and his gang getting into crazy shit.

Another great anime to watch would be JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012). I don't really know how to describe it in a short fashion, since the focus of the show changes every season. The first season is a bit of horror mixed in with over-the-top action in Victorian England. The second season goes all out with the Fist of the North Star action, except with Nazis and vampires in America and around the world. The third season is a globe-trotting adventure. It's a wonderful, beautifully animated, well-written ride. All of the characters are memorable and fun, and the story is always engaging. There's no filler, just a great story. And if it helps any, the manga was so good, the Louve (that snooty museum in Paris that has all those famous paintings) has a JoJo story on display. Cause it's that good. I'd recommend finding a torrent of the blu-ray and downloading all of it. The blu ray has the most accurate subs. Otherwise, go to Crunchyroll.

Trouble is, all animes are crappier than their Manga equivalents. Claymore? Crappy Anime. Mahou Sensei Negima? Crappy Anime. Rosario+Vampire? Seriously, this manga has some of the most emotional moments I've ever read. The Anime is two seasons of panty shots and no character development.

One I actually really liked, that I can recommend, is season one ONLY of Strike Witches. It's cute, it's kinda pointless, but it has a plot to a certain extent, and it's got magical animal girls named after famous fighter aces fighting aliens with guns as large as their bodies.

THIS, I RECOMMEND Ruroni Kenshin and Yu Yu Hakusho. And if you like Yu Yu Hakusho, check out HunterxHunter 2011. It's by the same guy. And just as good. Kenshin is a period piece that I've only read one volume of, but it's pretty damn good, so the anime should be pretty damn good. And Yu Yu Hakusho is about a boy that dies, but heaven and hell don't really want him, so he becomes a spirit detective. Fuck yeah.

One last thing I'd recommend is anything by Tezuka. Anything. He's awesome. All his work is heavily influenced by 1930's and 40's American animation and comics, most notably Carl Barks's Scrooge McDuck comics.

Whats so good about Cowboy Bebop? I watched all of it and none of the episodes really stood out to me, none of them were over the top amazing, I'd say all of them were just decent, just like the series. The ending wasnt even good.
