I really disagree. Talent is most definitely required. Tracks will sound dull, muddy, and amateur if you mash up whatever. Yeah, things really are easier with advancements in technology. I play guitar, bass and (kind of) piano, and have done for most of my life. I'm in a band and we write our own music. I also produce electronic music and I think while anyone can sit down in front of a DAW and make a wav file, that's not the same as producing good music. Most bedroom producers will have a good understanding of basic music theory, and likely be able to play keyboards instruments. In no way does it require less skill than playing a musical instrument does.
