What does /b/ think about this computer i am assembling?
Please tell me if there's any small tweaks i should make, preferably to save money
NZXT 820 Phantom case
GIGABYTE GA-Z97-D3H motherboard
MSI GeForce GTX660 GPU
Intel i5 4430 i5 3ghz CPU
8GB Ripjaw RAM, 2133MHZ
Corsair cx600 PSU
Standard 1TB SATA drive
gonna upgrade to SSD later.
Anything i should change? Any parts that's overpriced?
And can i upgrade to watercooling later? Thanks /b/
bumping with computer porn
>Intel i5 4430 i5 3ghz CPU
Go big or go home, just get the 4690
>8GB Ripjaw RAM, 2133MHZ
anything above 1600 is a waste of money, make sure the timing is 9-9-9-24
>Corsair cx600 PSU
Seasonic or XFX
>Standard 1TB SATA drive
The fuck is a "standard" 1tb drive?
Want to save money? Don't buy a fucking $140 case.
Watercooling a shit
You can't overclock that CPU. Either get a K CPU, or drop the motherboard to an H97 board to save money.
The 660 is shit. Get a 760.
CX power supplies aren't great. Try and get a better one.
RAM above 1600MHz is pointless if you aren't using an APU.
Not gonna upgrade CPU, this one is good enough.
Gonna downgrade to 1600 if you think so, the pricedifference is minimum though
Why not corsair?
I don't understand your comment on watercooling
you're cool as fuck. corsair power supplies are beautiful and my 750 came in a black velvet drawstring bag with the corsair logo EMBROIDERED on it. a "standard" 1tb drive would by 7200 rpm rather than SSD.
>Not gonna upgrade CPU, this one is good enough.
It's not even thirty dollars for a lot more power. Seriously, get a fucking $40 case and toss the rest into a 4690 and better GPU.
Corsair is shit, that's why it's cheap.
Watercooling is shit, expensive and dangerous.
I have no idea bro sorry just found it on google and thought it looked cool
This sounds like a good idea. i will see if there's any 4690 cpus on danish sites
>corsair power supplies are beautiful and my 750 came in a black velvet drawstring bag with the corsair logo EMBROIDERED on it
So did my Seasonic and NZXT. The difference is I can trust those to not burn my house down.
so what youre telling me is that by reducing airflow, im increasing heat dissipation? what a revolutionary concept! why didnt these companies think of this sooner!
>I'll look up the price in denmark
Faggot I said tell me your goddamn location, prices and parts are different outside the US.
>Do you have any good case to recommend me, if not the 820?
The one I fucking put in the build, are you blind?
I've been up for almost 20 hours I'm a bit on edge.
Why not purchase an i7 processor for such an inexpensive price?
No problem OP, that is a solid rig that you have decided to assemble. I own the same processor, no complaints. But if you can, try going for a R9 270 or GTX 660 TI instead of the 660.
> spending 2500$ on this shit
How does it feel knowing I have a better GPU built into my CPU?
Depending on your budget, you should buy a full size ATX case that's cheaper. There's plenty on newegg with great ratings.
You can afford to cheaper up a bit on the mobo.
Get a 760 ti instead of a 660.
You should up the clock rate on the CPU if you've money to spare.
RAM doesn't need to be more than 1600 MHz.
Get a modular PSU, it will make your final build a whole lot cleaner.
By standard 1TB, do you like one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148840&cm_re=barracuda-_-22-148-840-_-Product? Then that's fine.
Get a 64 GB SSD when you can, you won't need more than that.
>But what is a modular psu?
It means you can pick what cables you can attach so you don't have half of them in a coil in the bottom of your case. The one I gave you is semi-modular which is all you need. Full-mod is a waste of money.,
Not really but I'll give you some advice if you can't find some of the parts.
RAM is your dump stat. Brand doesn't matter, clock doesn't matter, as long as you have enough. 8GB is plenty, pick the cheapest one with good reviews and 9-9-9-24 timings.
Semi-modular, Gold rated. Seasonic, XFX are the go too brands in the US, I've heard nice things about a euro brand called Superflower or something like that. You won't need more than 550-600watts.
Seriously, getting something in the 40-50 dollar range, mid tower, ATX with room for more fans.
See the black cubes around the socket with like 3 white characters one them? The more of those the better. Stick with Asus or Gigabyte, don't spend more than about $150. Get a Z97
Everything else you should be able to find okay.
Personally I'd go with a full-sized ATX case. But depends on budget and whatnot since you'll have to drop ~100 or so for good one. Everything won't be so clumped together and if you decide to seriously upgrade your storage you'll have plenty of hdd bays to make up for it.
Mid towers are fine unless you get an actual tiny one. And putting more than ~3 HDDs in a single tower is pants on head retarded, they'll shake themselves to death and they fuck with your airflow bad.
My advice put a litle ssd for the so and a big one for porn.
I changed my lap top Hard drive for a SSD and less than 10 sec start up
save mone on box all u can
BTW any one know where to buy good priced components on europe (spain)
$1000 will get you a PC that will play anything properly coded on ultra settings at 1080p at 60 FPS, especially if you skimp real hard on the case.
You're a fucking faggot OP, everyone knows you don't play games on a Windows fag machine. Get a beast Mac Pro instead. Dual GPUs, server processor, etc. And you get a superior OS.
Then imma do that if i am not happy with the case i am buying
still not sure which one to get though, i know you linked some cheap one, but are there not any better ones for just a liiiiitle bit more money?
u allwasy can change the case but for me cases are just stetic shit
cases or wather you put motherboard just need 2 things a good refrigeration form and dont get dust other thing are merchandaising crap
just my opinion about case
No one gives a fuck about your display you fucking autistic asshat. The mass majority of us have a realist sense of priortizing our money on essential things- rather than blowing it all into a fucking PC that is intended for gaming. Fuck off faggot.
The processor is outdated, but it will still serve you well for another year or two.
actually mines intended for editing because thats what i do. like you know. as a job... i just use it for gaming aswell and would just personally hate running something at a lowly 1080p 60. thats for fags like you
One of you techy suns'a'bitches is named Tom....i know you're here Tom...lurking in the shadows.
breathing heavily with a slight weezey gurgle sound from ur asthma...i can smell you...the scent of bacon and cheetos fills the halls of 4chan...show yourself!!!!!!
when was the last time you felt sunlight my child?
>actually mines intended for editing
A vague statement is usually an indication of falsehood.
8GB 1600MHz Ram
Corsair CX600M, go modular. I purchased the CX600 3 weeks ago, within a day the fan started rattling constantly, got it replaced with a CX600M to keep things tidy. For the extra £10 (~$18?) it's worth it.
Seriously get the 4690k. You'll wish you did in no time.
yeah got the MB, RAM and CPU from an old work computer, added the SSD and 770GTX, a new case and PSU and it's handling games all pretty well.
I do a bit of editing and photoshopping too
>CX series modular power supply units are an excellent choice for basic system builds and desktop PC computer upgrades
