I play this with my girlfriend, one night we decided to play Strip Osu, whoever did worse than the other person had to take off a piece of clothing. That was fun.

For just starting out
just play the beatmaps that come with osu now.
When you can pass them on at least hard, go to the beatmap listings, and press recommended difficulty.
Then just play a bunch of random beatmaps from there, then git gud.
