clear browsing history (delete cookies in particular), clear flash cookies (separate step), and change IP address. broadband users may need to turn off their modem overnight. if your IP is static, tough luck. oh, and obviously use a new account.

I remember paltalk (installed cam program, not browser-based) used to record your MAC address, your windows product ID, your hard drive volume serial number, and in later years the CD-ROM initialization strings. it also wrote secret keys in your registry when you were banned to check if you tried to come back. needless to say it was very hard to overcome bans then, and quite a sport to do find out how to do so. haven't used it in years though
