Worked for Walmart for 5yrs.

Not going to ask anything, going to give you some good advice.

Keep looking around for other retail jobs. I left and worked for Albertsons doing Produce (granted this was back when they were doing good) and in the interview they OFFERED to pay me a few dollars more an hour. Then raises followed. I was matching my mother (worked there for 20yrs) within a year or so. Back then, Albertsons health benefits were free. I shit you not.

So keep applying at other places while you work there. I'm not downing you as Walmart worker. It's a job and working is important. But for love of god there is NO reason to stay there long-term. None. I don't care if you want to be CEO. Find somewhere else. Walmart's will fall eventually. It's only the great recession that's kept them going this long.

I used to ALWAYS shop there. Now I get groceries cheaper at Winco. I get almost everything else from Amazon.

Hell, prices at my current job (Fred Meyer) are starting to come close on some things.

Also, Walmart has serious issue with keeping stuff in stock. I forget the percentage, but even a small amount means company is losing TONS of money every time stuff sits in the backroom.

Everyone I know that still shops there only does so because they're too lazy to shop around.
