My mate got done dui on 6 pills (MDMA) at around 2:30am near sydney NSW - cops picked him up, took his blood, fucked around with him by putting on weird cop radio stations where people were getting murdered and cops were responding etc, took him back to cop station, tried to get him to piss (my mate couldnt) and then dropped him off back at my house. He still hasnt received chargers, he didnt have his license and he was underage (17)
my question is, are cops like this common? Do they like fucking around with people on drugs? He was also driving his friends car, and his friend just rocked up to the cop station and retrieved his keys - no questions asked.

>>553063957 Hey coppa dog. Im considering breaking into my local dominoes to steal $12,000 in cash from the safe. I used to work there and know that their camera does not work as it is fake. I know where the key to the safe is and the combination to the door, i havent worked there in over 2 years but inside intel has informed me that nothing has changed. I know i can get away with it, but any help on what i should take into consideration as to what the cops first steps will be? Thanks OP. Also im considering becomi a cop myself.

How lucky do you think i got when i was driving around town hitting a bong woth 3ounces of weed bagged up for sale and another 9gram just sitting in my cupholder, cops cum up behind me and pull me over. They make me do breathe test and send me on my way even thou i couldnt remember where i lived. Did they just no give a fuck? And do you see weed becoming legalised/medicalised in the near future?

>>553066905 this. Brazil, Venezuela, Spain, Thailand, London, Paris, Greece and other parts of europe have all had significant mass protest events, Similar in size to those that started in the Ukraine. As the poor grows, and the middle-class recedes, people grow agitated. It will happen.
A friend of mine is going to have to go to court (in NSW) soon. He's been charged with assault because he bashed some guy up pretty good. He didn't cause any permanent damage or anything like that, but it was a pretty decent beatdown. As far as you can tell/guess/whatever, what do you think will be the most likely punishment he receives and how severe will it be? He has no prior convictions, if that helps.

>>553063957 QLD fag here. couple of years back when I was a faggot little teenager there was this paranoid little chink shopkeeper who used to call the police on every teenager that bought something from his shop because he was convinced all teenagers stole stuff. I bought a drink and went to go hang out at the park next to the shop and a copper rocked up made me turn out my pockets and empty my bag for stolen stuff, I didn't steal anything, but I had a dimebag in my pocket. cop was like >well I'm not here to bust you for weed so I'll just pretend I didn't see that, keep it for personal use and don't go smoking on public property and the cop and I shook hands and he left.
would you have been a cool guy and let me off, officer?
>>553070852 Scissors guy here. I mean I got done for having 'paraphernalia' in my car... They had just assumed that I was using them to chop weed with. Shouldn't they have like, tested them for thc or something first?
>>553063957 Hey mate. Please explain this for me so I understand better.
I live in QLD, and the law up here is that if you are on your L plates, you are allowed to drive a high powered vehicle, such as a v8 or a turbo, of coarse as long as you have a person that is allowed to teach you to drive. But why is it that for a person on their P plates they are not allowed to drive a v8 or a turbo unless they have some sort of exemption? In my opinion, a P plater would have to have much more experience with driving than a person on their L plates, and yes I understand that the person on their L plates would be with a responsible adult, but still.. the driver has full control therefore it would seem more dangerous that a L plater is driving a v8/turbo over a P platers.
Novocastrian here. Where in NSW are you stationed? Is there a lot of corruption in the police force? The officers i've encountered have either abused there power, or have backed down in potentially life threatening situations and done nothing to stop them.
>>553070852 >>If you are at a set of traffic lights and an emergency vehicle is coming up behind you, can you go through the red light? >No you can't.
Yes you can. I've done it. I've even set off a red-light camera. I pulled straight over, called the local cop shop and told them what just happened. The cop told me I did the right thing and I never received a fine for the camera.
I'm doubting if you're even a real cop now after that
>>553071067 The L plater has a supervisor, and it may be the only car the their parents own, you cant expect them to go out and buy another car just to teach the kid to drive. P platers will have their m8s with them and are far more likely to be a fuckwit. Let me guess, you are a red p plater jdm faggot who thinks jap cars are better than commodores evnen though you n/a auto supra would get smoked by an xr6 or commodore.

>>553070876 > Do i need to be very physically fit? i'm a heavy smoker Make sure you can do the bare minimum obviously, and then make sure you can do 100x that. It's HARD. >>553071067 because learners are learning and will very rarely 'see how she goes'. P platers on the other hand, as much you all hate to admit it, tend to be overconfident in their driving ability. Let's not give them high powered cars yet.
>>553072074 fuck alright. probably gotta quit smoking then since i get puffed out just climbing a longer than average flight of stairs. not to mention my girlfriend has been on my arse about it for weeks now.

>>553072413 > Op these are good answers, I wanna become an officer, I'm in QLD btw. But my girlfriend thinks it dangerous and all that. Anything I can say to make her feel better about it? Honestly, no. You will be bleed and you may well even die out there but you are protected by your second family. You'll develop a 6th sense for situations where you can just predict things, you'll see things differently and you'll get a pretty dark sense of humour after a while. It's a very rewarding job and you get a lot of it.
>>553072668 >know your rights - they need reasonable suspicion to search you. Never consent. A shoplifting call on a POI matching his exact description is more than enough reasonable suspicion
>>553072074 >Never. A few people in the academy said they were pretty keen to use their batons
>"particular, many statements made by Police that were recorded by Legal Observers indicate this attitude of ‘punishment’ amongst some police officers. One police officer, when brandishing his baton was heard saying words to the effect of: "I love smashing fucking feral faces with this thing, I smashed three people's faces this morning”. Another Police officer was reported as saying “I don’t give a fuck mate, you’re next” after he had informed about a protestor who had been injured. Another was observed saying “Fuck off moll, you shouldn’t be here” as he held a woman around the throat. (Details of these incidents below)"
These sorts of cops definitely exist in Vic though. Could you see this happening if another S11 protest was held in Sydney?
Hey OP, currently in the Army, and am thinking of joining the Police Force after I discharge. I used to be a grunt but had an ankle reconstruction, however I can still do all the PT tests easy as fuck. My question is, would my experience help me get in, and would they hesitate because of my ankle?
>>553073051 >>553073051 >You guys have a cunt of a job I couldnt do it. How do you not beat the shit out of some young cunt with attitude giving you grief when you bust them? People always ask this. At the end of the day, you're there to serve the public and to defuse the situation and not beat people up. You take whatever action the situation fits.
People mouth off, but so what? At the end of the day, maybe in a matter of minutes you'll both be going in different directions. The other guy probably with a fine in his pocket that as much as he hates it, he's going to shell out for it. You control the situation.
I'm a nice guy, I'll have a conversation with you if you're nice but if you're a cunt, I've got a whole lot more things up my sleeve that'll just make your day worse. Be nice, get nice back.
>>553073496 >Hey OP, currently in the Army, and am thinking of joining the Police Force after I discharge. I used to be a grunt but had an ankle reconstruction, however I can still do all the PT tests easy as fuck. My question is, would my experience help me get in, and would they hesitate because of my ankle? Army experience is a good thing, although don't expect respect for it because you'll be hated.
Your ankle problem has big potential of fucking you up. I've seen people get disqualified for WAAYY less. Don't leave your medical for the last minute because it will take a while.
Depends which state you are in, in Vic police usually only have to give name/rank/station location if they have first asked for your details. People get so caught up on asking for badge numbers, I will give anyone my details if they ask for them (far easier that arguing with people about it for 10 minutes) but I never give my badge number on principal
I'm as ignorant as fuck-- why are cops generally resistant (or at least hesitant) to giving out badge numbers? I mean, the person(s) they are arresting/pulling over/whatever already know their names and appearances and etc.
Australian police generally don't have badge numbers as such, they do have personnel numbers but you don't need them
All the law requires them to give you is name, rank and station. You can easily lodge a complaint off this but I'd advise you to take a photo of them anyway
Never complain to the station, it goes fucking nowhere. Leapfrog them as I always do straight to CMC or your state's equivalent. It is much more serious for them to deal with and will usually get ethical standards command involved in it. If nothing else, it frightens junior officers :)
How do you go about applying for the NSW police force? I already have a uni degree in an unrelated field. Do i have do get another degree or can i just do basic training or whatever it is? And if so, where can i apply?
So, my little brother (16) was pegged by a victorian cop for trespassing, and he tried to leg it along with his dickhead mates. He got caught, but said the officer was abusing him verbally after he was only polite to the officer. He was told he was going to be arrested and abused by the officer for a full 10 minutes. He was let off, thank fuck. Does my family have a right to sue the policeman/station?
That makes sense. I can't imagine the actual station doing anything. Each tends to (well, from what I've observed) stick together and cover each others' backs. Which I guess is great for them but shitty for anyone with a legitimate problem with one of the officers.
When I have issues (for example, last month my bank was trying to pull some shit over on me) I immediately ask for at least a district manager. I argued with my bank's manager for about 30 minutes and got nowhere, then finally asked for the DM's info. She got back to me promptly that next morning and helped me out, apologizing for any inconvenience.
I'm really tired and I think I'm rambling, but going to the higher ups is a great thing and almost always gets things sorted out.
>>553076829 >On the contrary, the harassment ceased after the last complaint was upheld against a Sgt. You see it on the telly, all the shows about police, "Yeah real life stuff with blood and guts that show it like it is"' The poms have got the Sweeney, "The yanks Starsky and Hutch", But we're Australian super cops they call us Fair and Just.
