So what the fuck is up with this shit?
Every day some apperantly random teams wins this shit by having double if not triple the amount of points as the 2nd place.

I heard that it's rigged and a ton of rich fucks get all the tokens for stealing points and switching teams, but I don't quite see the point in that since it will surely require a lot more money than those 3 games you have no chance of winning anyways.
Yet something is up with it.

wouldn't surprise me if it was just steam making sure every team wins at least once so no one feels left out.
can't have anyone's feelings be getting hurt now, or else they might stop spending their money

It's a pretty bullshit contest to begin with anyways, it's not about playing games or having games, just spending money on fucking cards.
Even if your team wins, 30 people out of probably millions get 3 games that are most likely on sale anyways, so like 10 bucks.
>>
>>552748096
Someone post that reddit link pls.

Reddit apparently wants to make things fair, they have a roster where every team has two days to craft shit and gets loads of points.
>>
>>552748739
I still don't see the point in that, you only get 2 cards, since the odds of winning those games are 1. non existant and 2. They don't cost shit right now anyways
>>
>>552749186
The chance to win free games is equally divided this way.
>>
>>552749262
30 people, out of millions of people, the chance to win free games are non existant either way.
>>
>>552749369
There is a low chance to winning games = there is NO chance to win games?
Okay.
>>
>>552749634
30 out of even just 1 mil= .003% chance
good luck with that
>>
>>552749634
The chances are barely 1 in a million.
Even if your team wins it every day you still won't win those games.

In other words, the odds to win something are so amazingly small, that any effort in trying to make your team win seems a waste.

>>552749909
0.001% chance to roll trips on /b/, but lookie here:
>>552749000
>>552748000
>>552747000

>>552749914
A team will win anyway, people will craft anyway, why not instruct them to wait with crafting?
It won't cost them any more effort to wait.
>>
>>552750276
and was one of those people you?
plus, it's not random who wins the games, it's based on contribution. so unless you are willing to spend the money to craft a fuck ton of badges, you won't get shit.
>>
>>552750276
Odds are that you never rolled trips anyways , sure someone will have to get those trips, but it won't be you.
And I have no idea what the chance is to get trips, but considering you can 10 times every 1000, i'm sure those odds are a lot better.

It's just pointless to try to influence something that's so amazingly insignificant, but then again, if it's reddits doing, i'm not surprised that this is the result of those 2 braincells at work.

>Each day the team with the most points wins. 30 members of that team who contributed points that day will win the top 3 games off their Wishlist.

I thought so aswell, but you just have to contribute something apperantly,, even 10 points should do according to this.
I'm sure there are a ton of people who buy all these cards to contribute the most.

You contribute points on the day that your team wins: you get a chance at free games.
The most you will need to spend to get points is about 20 cents which you can get if you have any trading cards.

>>552750716
>Odds are that you never rolled trips anyways
I have gotten trips multiple times.
Chance to get trips = 1/901.

1/901 is not 0.001%

Which sounds cool and all if it actually was some form of contest and not a 'who spends the most time and money on crafting shitty cards' kind of thing
>>
>>552750276
It's isn't chance when the post numbers go in order.
>>
>65 million registered users
if we take a rough guess and say even 25% of these accounts are active, split into 4 teams
>4 mil people per team
>.00075% of winning games
>chance of being killed by a shark .00165%
so you are twice as likely to get eaten by a shark than you are to win a game from steam.
>>
>>552752983
Thanks /b/ro, that's what im saying.

So why the actual fuck would you spend time and effort in order to make sure that everyone gets .00075% ( I will just take your word for it ) chance of winning about 15 dollar in games, by spending a fuckton more money on creating that chance?
>>
>>552752983
You only get put in the running if you contribute at least a point. So the max would be a million for the latest pink victory, but it's most likely less since you can contribute more than one point and some badges can get you 10 or even 100 points. I'd be surprised if more than 500k people contributed to any victory so far.
>>
>>552754418
It doesn't matter much since your chances will still be below any number worth putting in effort for.
>>
>>552754418
still only a .006% chance
