I also used to live near this area up until I was about 20. I used to always hear stories about something called a "hoofman" that lived in the area. It was like an old native american legend or something. I forget most of the details about it

Also there's another creepy-pasta about a militaryfag driving through this old shitty road off the I-40 coming from LA towards Arizona past a little town called Amboy. He sees a car stopped in the middle of the road with clothes everywhere and two people laying down. He hauls ass around them and sees the people get up or something like that. My friend's dad owns the saltmine in Amboy and my friend used to work there, I've driven down that road a handful of times. It is indeed really creepy and there was rumors of devil-worshipers hanging out there a lot. Nearby there, there's a little gas-station town called Ludlow with a bunch of old abandoned houses too.

Now that I think about it, there's a lot of really weird shit near where I live.

My friends and I actually used to go "ghost hunting" (exploring old abandoned places). Near Kingman there's supposed to be an abandoned slaughterhouse inside a gulch where apparently, in the pioneer days, a woman went crazy and killed her kids. A lot of people I know who have lived in that area actually report hearing screams and stuff coming from that area at night but not many people have actually been to it. My friends and I tried finding it a few times but never could. We'd go to exactly where it's supposed to be, even have people that have been there tell us how to get to it, and there is literally nothing (human-made) in the gulch. It's fucking weird.

Lived on a moutain owned by an old indian lady in her trailer for a year when i was a kid .she would always tell me too stay off parts of it because they were dangerous . My friend "only other family that lived there had a kid my age" and i felt brave one day and went exploring. After going high up and off the trail we found a deep pit had to be about ten feet deep & that copper smell was in the air thick as syrup and we both felt like we were being watched. We jumped down into the pit and found it was full of rotting dead animals' coyotes, deer, moutain lions and all the small critters. We took some bones and my friend climbed up my back to get out of the pit then ran off to find something i could climb up he was gone for about 15 minutes and came back with a heavy branch, said he saw a man watching him and was scared so he sprinted back to me as fast as he could . Told indian lady about it and she told me storys of skin walkers. get real creeped out when i read about other people who have smelled that copper smell and run into strange people afterwords.
