Carbon filters and such, never have a single issue with the hydro company and the timers? Any boys and blue come knocking at the door before?

Are you stealing/bypassing hydro?

Id like to start for personal use, very low heat I would think; right?
>>
I'm only a guy who smokes bud, but how much do you get out one plant and how long does it usually take to grow properly?

Do you smoke it yourself or do you sell to dealers or dispensaries (if you're in a legal state).

I've heard that you should trim your plants from letting them get too tall, to preserve THC content in the lower buds, but I've also heard that a taller plant will produce a higher THC content in the upper buds (Since THC is a tri-chrome that is used by the plant to help defend against solar radiation damage)

Which of these is true?
>>
>>539968432
Youll need lights, and probably carbon filters to reduce the smell.
Yesah you have to dry it and cure it for a few weeks at least.

What sort of space size and light setup would be best for a small personal grow attempting to create as little heat as possible?

Will I lose a lot of yield without using paints/wall covers on walls?

Any generic light that is known to be good at producing a high rate of lumen?

I grew when I was a teenager a long time ago and retained a bit of what I scoured from Grasscity, but I would love to get back into it as a hobby.
>>
>>539968087

How are carbon filters, timers. and the hydro company related? There is an electricity consumption threshold where I live. If you go over the consumption limit, you are flagged and your info becomes open game to the authorities. I simply remain under this limit to fly under the radar (otherwise I'd go bigger).

No I'm not stealing or bypassing hydro.

It can be very covert so long as you have adequate provisions to mitigate smell. Don't tell a soul.

>>539968240
It depends on the strain and how large you grow the plant. As you can imagine, a small apple tree would grow fewer apples than a large one. Similarly, a large apple tree would take longer to grow than one that is smaller. It all depends on grower. Off of a 2 foot tall plant, yield is around 28 grams dry or 1 oz. 1 week of veg, 2 months of flower approximately.

I smoke some myself but not alot. I sell it myself as I have a loyal customer base.

If you're growing indoor, you will need HID bulbs. maybe a 400watt or 600watt HPS or MH bulb. Need a carbon filter for smell mitigation. Adequate ventilation, reflective materials, pots, soil, nutrients, and all the fixins for gardening. Read a book dude. It will help you more than my short-winded responses.

You need to dry it and cure it before smoking. Drying can take 3-5 days and curing takes 2 weeks minimum.

Carbon filters for smell, I know of.

The hydro here(In Canada, Ontario), I have never heard of a limit cap of some kind. Make friends with someone that works for the local hydro company.. Which I have already, I will ask him I guess.

I have a family member who grows with a medical license for personal use.

have grown with good genetics twice now, buds came off the plant looking smelling something amazing, and after my cure is done they still only look amazing. they have lost their fantastic aroma and its place a hay-ish homegrown smell.
>hang until appropriately dry
>jar with stems; burp ~twice a day as necessary for ~1-2 weeks
>remove from stem and repeat burping process
>smoke
what did i do wrong D:
>>
>>539968538

Plants should be pruned for flower. This entails "lolipopping" the plant (removing lower growth from soil level abour 2-4 inches up the stem. You should leave 3-4 terminal cola's for the plant to grow well. If there are too many, the buds will be small and sparse. THC content isn't really affected through this unless you stress the plant.

>>539968594
I'll get right on that.

>>539968631
Purchase a grow tent.
You will need a small wattage HID bulb. Preferably 600watts as its the most efficient.
You'll need a carbon filter and an extraction fan. Probably a cool tube for the light to mitigate heat. From there, grab a book and you're good to go.

YOU MUST FLUSH BEFORE HARVEST. minimum 2 weeks with plain water.

Which picture?

I use a variety of nutes. General hydro, holland secret, fish emulsion, etc.

PH I monitor with a PPM meter or strips (or soild PH pen). I measure temperature and humidity as well.

I place them on a hand made rack with a screen door material to dry.

I cure my buds in mason jars for 2-4 weeks before sale. They are kept in a cool dark location and I remove jar lids to let in fresh air every day / every other day.

Looking for a discreet way to run a grow indoors. Was originally looking into the bc northern lights grow boxes, they are small, have a built in filter and keep noise down to a minimum. Was wondering if you would have any alternatives? I am not trying to do anything large scale until I have a place to do so. Personal use only, thanks
>>
>>539969087

No. My bud is AAA.

>>539969153
Yea smart meters are a bitch. I opted out of the smart meter for my home so I pay a small analogue fee each month extra. One or two lights wont make a big diff in your bill. They won't care man.

>>539969303

I harvest by clipping the buds off the plant and I run them through a rotary clipper I purchased. I then place the buds on drying racks and let dry in cool dark place for 3-5 days or until stems snap when bent. Then I place in mason jars for 2-4 weeks periodically removing jar lids to let out stale air and let in the fresh air. Then they stay in jars until sold.

>>
>>539970070

Seeds will run you $50-$70 for 5-10 probably depending where you get them. Of those seeds, half will germinate.

Youll need a light + ballast = $200
Carbon filter and inline fan= $200
Reflector = $100
if you dont use a grow tent you will need reflective materials
If you do tent runs $100-$500
Pots and dirt $50
Nutes $50-$100

That's a basic setup.

How do I find a dealer that won't sell me off cuttings and bits of the leaves for 10 pounds, how o get good dealer?
>>
>>539970476
I've had to get rid of them a ton of times...

Home remedies don't work that well (cayenne pepper bombs, soapy water, etc.) unless applied VERY frequently and liberally to underside of leaves.

You need a pressurized sprayer (one with a pump) so you can properly spray under leaves and get even coverage.

I've used safers soap (works for small populations and to slow them down). I've used lady bugs (they stop infestations until they all die). I've also used bug-b-gone which kills them altogether but I only spray actual bug killer when plants are in veg. DO NOT SPRAY INTO FLOWER or the buds will be affected.

Hey I do have a question, I'm looking to get in to the legal growing business once it becomes legal in my area... I'm looking to grow outside on about 3 acres of land in a clear field surrounded by trees and a nice sized creek. I've got about 18-24" of good soil before it hits clay and a pretty good water table. Full sun coverage all day.

First, how would I grow but not sell to customers and second is it possible to have good potency in that kind of climate.
>>
>>539970805

Just make sure the buds are adequately dry before curing otherwise they can get a musty moldy smell (or hay smell in your case). Dry until stems snap. Usually 4 days if the room is around 70ferenheit.

>>539970918
Yea. Maybe you can find some cheap shit online? If you go SUPER basic and don't care about growing good or smokable pot, you can get away with a $200-$300 setup. Don't cut corners dude. It's not worth it.
If you can't afford the infrastructure investment, then don't bother growing it. You're either in or your out.

>>539971402

Well you could theoretically harvest and then keep the plant alive...This is dumb though because you have to wait for the plant to revert back to veg which can take months then it has to grow all new leaves, start all over again. How growers bypass this: we clone plants and have an ever ready cycle of new babies after every harvest.

Its how tall the plants are and how they're grown. I could easily grow 20 plants and get the same yield. Again, I have a partner who owns the house so he has his say in things. If I had it my way, I'd be WAY more efficient. I cant get it out of his thick skull that more plants doesnt necessarily mean more bud. He's a retard.

>>539971725
Co2 definitely augments bud for the better. It's just hard to set up an air tight room and have everything timed so fans and shit turn off while CO2 flooding.

>>539971975
Yes Co2 increases bud growth dramatically. you need a way to flood the room to a certain PPM for up to an hour. This would mean turning off fans, ventilation, etc and having a sealed room. If you were doing it in a small area or on small scale this could be alot easier with a baking soda/vinegar drip or excellofizz pucks. Otherwise, its fucking hard to attain a good sized co2 tank (rentals are a bitch) and then you need a $200 regulator and spaghetti hosing. Not worth the fuss IMO unless you're small scale

Alright OP, bare with me on this one;

Here's what I'm working with: fairly basic nutrient rich potting soil (plenty, for the most part), two large plant pots, fixtures to accomodate two growing bulbs (originally intended for an aquarium) as well as a snake-like posable fixture for regular bulbs, and approximately a 100$ budget.

I also have a nice collection of seeds from eapecially dank strains I bought personally in the past couple months.

So, my question to you is this:

If you were me, and wanted to grow just two successfull plants with the resources listed above, how would you go about it?

I've successfully grown plants before, but I would definitely value your experienced methods and I would welcome as much detail as you're willing to give.
>>
>>539972552
No but it def helps you get laid if your supplying 420 all the time. I've joked at the idea with some chicks but the ones i'm even comfortable humoring the idea to are girls I've already fucked.
>>
>>539972662
Well you need an HID bulb. Best to go with 400 watt HPS. For this you need a ballast. You arent going to get enough lumens out of the bulbs that would fit in the aquarium fixtures. You need to simulate the sun with lights otherwise the buds will grow very sparse and the plants will stretch.

Id say set something up in the closet. Paint the walls matte white and get a cheap ballast and bulb (consuming that budget). I'd also use neutral soil with no nutes added so you can control that aspect. you'll have to skip on the carb filter but you need an oscillating fan to blow over the plants.

I'd like to grow and sell to distributors much like a farmer sells his crops.

No, though I've used it to successfully grow a single plant before, though I used a LOT of foil that time around and yeilded a fairly small plant in the end.

It is pretty easy depending on what you go with. A basic sump and drip with clay pellet is easy and cheap. Just need a couple rubbermaid bins. Maybe not worth it though. Depends on what you're into.

You need to germinate seeds first in damp paper towel. After that, yes it's just as easy as planting and waiting.

1-2 plants would need an area of about 3-4 feet high and 4-6 sq/ft of floor space. Yes they need good air circulation.

No and I wouldn't bother with LED.

Seeds from random dude? Does he know what they are or are they from a shit bag of weed? Autoflower seeds are pretty cool. Grew some lowrider under 24 hours of light in a little over a month. Got an oz per plant. Shit thing with AF seeds is you cannot clone them sadly.

>>539973428
Would probably be worth trying co2 then! The thing that sucks with growing experiments is unless you have a solid benchmark, you cannot measure the effects quantitatively

>>
>>539973504
Ah. I don't know when it will become legal. You would need a government contract i'd imagine. Here in Canada they sold a bunch of industrial contracts to well established companies. They probably wouldn't license rights to Joe Shmo.

I'm an 18 yo and I want to grow 2 plants in my room. Can you tell me what equipment would be the cheapest yet qualityfull. What lamp is perfect and what chance do I have on fire in a tent etc?
>>
>>539974375
If you look at tin foil closely enough, it looks like a badly grained wood. Light is absolutely tiny, it is beyond comprehension how small light is. The grooves in the tin foil that make it akin to the wood are massively larger than the light but they still reflect the light like a mirror does; like everything does - absorbing some of the spectrum, returning others.

Now tin foils grooves are tiny, but they will reflect the light when it hits it. The grooves will cause the light to be dispersed back out completly without uniform as it reflects the light back in on its own grooves, back in inconsistent spots. When the grooves cause more light to hit one spot, over an extended period, causes hotspots. The black burns on leaves that come with using poor covering.

At least that's how I learnt it.
>>
>>539974648
Cheers !

>>539974649
Foil creases and is inefficient at reflecting light. It can cause burn spots on the foliage and is all around shitty. Matte white paint (not gloss) is VERY efficient. like 99% efficient. White styrofoam is VERY efficient. Like 99.5% and can be a great insulator to manage heat. White poly plastic is pretty good. Best material is Growing dimpled reflective material. Like Growtek or mylar.

I use a mylar type reflective material but its super expensive. Best to go with plain white styrofoam or matte white paint
>>
>>539974828
Read above. I linked a cheap ass 400 watt digital ballast with reflector and bulb to a guy for like $80. There's always a risk of fire if you try to wire your own shit. Otherwise it's pretty safe.

>>
>>539971641
I would say a quarter pound a plant in a room with 50 plant is good, if lighting and spacing are correct. Tops.
>>
>>539975307
Buy feminized seeds. If you need to determine gender just have a look at the sex organs of the plant. Male plants have balls (more or less) which are pollen sacks. Females have pistils (hairs) like you see in your weed (albeit they're white before they dry). You can determine the sex of a plant shortly into flower cycle. The sex organs show up at leaf and branch nodes.

>>539975747
Well if you get potting soil, its already amended with nutes. This type of soil doesn't always drain well and the PH can be off so I dont like it that much. I use HP pro mix or sunshine mix #4. There are other options depending where you live like a coco coir mix.

Basically you buy a 3 part nutrient formula. Most liquid nutrients come with a grow mixture, common mixture, and flower mixture with different nutrient ratios.

Mix at 25% recommended strength. So if it calls for 4ml per liter, use 1 ml per liter. Only fertilize established plants. Dont fertilize seedlings or small clones until they need it.

Add the nutrients directly to the water that you water with.

What is the cheapest way to filter large amounts water (40+ gallons at a time) to reduce TDS but not necessarily chlorine? Will a two-stage under-sink filter system do that?
>>
>>539977559
Ok this is a complex question so I'll explain

When I wasnt growing it (ie. I was a runner), it went from a grower to a middle man, then from that middle man to another, then to me.

When I first started growing, I sold in bulk to a solid customer of mine from the past. Someone who I set up as a runner for me.

Now I grow so little that I sell it myself. All of my client base is 1oz clients. I dont really mes around too much with quarters and 8ths. So from me to you would be just that. I grow it and sell it to you fresh.

I sell 8ths for $25, quarts for $50, halfs for $80 and oz for $160. or $1600 bulk lb.

If I sell it to someone for $1600/lb they will probably mark it up to $200/oz which is $3200 - Double what I sold it for to them
>>
>>539977714

I am on a work computer and I don't have a recent time stamp of my grow. I'll be more prepared next time.

>>539977720
I'm not sure but its a possibility. Try distilling the water by leaving it out in an open bin for 24 hours. Let the shit evaporate out.

Probably a sump/reservoir type filter. I'm not a plumber and don't have experience with hydro. I'm basing my answer off of when I was a fish tank cleaner/servicer.

I recommend you get a match box (the type wooden matches come in, and peel off the striker strip or use an emery board and glue it inside the box. Place seeds in the box and give it a shake. This will shave down the seed wall and allow water to permeate better. Then you want to soak the seeds in water for 12 hours then place in damp paper towel in a tupperware container and place it on a cable box or something for heat. In 1-5 days, yo should see sprouts. Then place sprouts tap root down in soil approx 1cm deep. Make sure soil is PH neutral and you DO NOT fertilize.

>>539980308

You won't be able to produce dence, THC laden buds under a cfl. You need 80,000 lumens+ Small CFL's only put out like 9,000. You can certainly veg under the CFL light though. I'd buy an HPS bulb for flower, however.

Good rule is once the plant is a foot tall and pretty bushy with growth, switch to 12/12. Don't go 6:18. Will just stifle growth.

Basically you can flower a plant at any time. Rule is the plant will roughly double in height once flowered. so if you want a 2ft plant, flower at 1 foot. You want a 1 ft plant, flower at 6 inches (so long as the plant can sustain bud growth).

Yes it is if you plan on using it for personal consumption. If you set up a scrog with 1 plant in a grow tent, you could yield up to a lb dry if done well!

I think the cutoff would be if you can't make a return on investment within 2-3 harvests. So if your setup cost $500, then you would want to get like 3-4 oz. It's a great hobby too!

what level is ur farming in runescape? do u grow that shit there?
>>
>>539986101

I never said I was special. I'm just providing sound advice for those who are seeking it. I'm not some narcissistic, self proclaimed weed guru.

I'm just an enthusiast who's answering questions that I had when I first started. I wish I had a resource like this when I first began.

You sir, are a pompous dick.
>>
Have you ever tried breeding? If so how did it work out?
>>
I want critical mass.

I don't smoke much. But I hear everyone rant and rave about this strain.
>>
>>539986661

Never really played RS. Used to do some farming in that game and sell some rune ore or something like that for real money when I was in Jr. high.
>>
>>539986661
I have almost 90 farming in old school runescape.
>>
What strain should i buy if i want to grow outdoors and in a cool climate (northern europe, lithuania)? Also i have a greenhouse so i can try that. Thoughts?
>>
>>539986681
I just started vegging some little ladies (hopefully) under SOME CFLs, plan to switch to HPS for flowering.
Hopefully I'll end up with 4 good females.
Will one 400 watt HPS be enough for the 4?
If I supplemented with CFLs would it work?
>>
>>539986684
Negative. It's just too risky with a confined space such as my own. If I had a separate room with adequate provisions to prevent cross pollination, I'd dabble around with this. Maybe one day!

>>539986687
Never heard of it. Lots of great strains out there though!

After how many harvests is the purchase of a complete setup profitable? Pic unrelated
>>
>>539986847
did it affect your career in weed farming? are you a weed sensei now?
>>
>50 plants
>3-4 LB harvest

you wot m8? why not just save up, get an undercurrent system with better lighting and get 1-2 lbs per plant?
>>
>>539967092
Go green op, use solar panels
>>
do you live in Oregon because i need a nice hookup haha.
>>
>>539986856
No idea. Just look on some seed sites and read what the strains thrive in. You're best to go with a hearty sativa.

>>539986986

Yes the 400watt will be enough for the 4 ladies! You shouldn't need to supplement with CFL once you're into flower but yes it would work, albeit the results would be hardly noticeable.
>>
>>539987203
I agree, or you could grow outdoors if its a warm climate.
>>
>>539986856
if you get the seeds from a good site they should have descriptions about what type of seeds they are. if they are best grown inside or out, how long its takes them to harvest, stuff like that.

Depends on scale. For me, 1.

Initial setup was around $1000. Maybe $1500 after electricity and incidentals. Made $4000 first harvest.

>>539987049
Didn't affect my career. I'm a weed consultant. I wouldn't say sensei..I don't know enough about different growing methods like hydro and outdoor to call myself a sensei. Maybe in 10-15 more years of doing it.

>>539987201
Read above. I have some restrictions.

>>539987203
They're pretty expensive. I thought about it though to feed back into the grid!

>>539987207
Nah. Canada.

switch your plants to LED. its cheaper, greener and your plants will grow much faster. works on any plant.

>>
>>539986017
yeah exactly man
unfortunately i live in a neighbourhood with LOTS of neighbours and my neighbours are kind of like exlusively niggers who recognize the smell of weed from miles away so my home will get raided before the cannabis even flowers

soo growing at home is not an option but im thinking about renting a storage unit or something
>>
>>539987727
if i wanted to grow a single plant in a small home, what would i need, and how much time and attention would i need to dedicate to it?
>>
>>539987735
Any LED panel that is actually going to put out some good growth will cost around $1000+ and I would need multiple. They're too expensive to be worth it right now.
>>
i only have 16 6 16 nutrient ; is it ok for the flower period ?
>>
>>539988193
Both options sound sketchy. You can completely get rid of the smell in a house with a carbon filter in an enclosed grow space.

A storage unit would be cool but difficult to keep discreet....Also, how would you get electricity to it? Plumbing?

>>539988402
Read above. Basic light, grow room/tent/closet. Dirt, seeds. Maybe 2-3 hours a week tops.
>>
>>539988656

No. That's more of a veg mixture. The N levels are too high for flower.
>>
>>539988431
Do you use feminized seeds or do you have to weed out the males?
>>
>>539987727
Its always cheaper to build your own solar panels.
buy the parts on Ebay, and there are tons of youtube video's explaining how to build it. i don't grow weed or smoke it but people could have avoided getting caught for using access power if they only had solar panels.

you don't need 1000$ to have a good setup, be Efficient. plants. you could easily setup some mirrors or aluminum all over the walls to reflect most of the light back to the plant. start small, get one and grow as you need. experiment with being as efficient as possible you will save a ton of money.
>>
>>539988853
i just can't find any other mixture in my shitty country; first time grower what can i expect ?

any thoughts on marijuana costing the same or less than tobacco? taxes play a huge part but still a pack of cigs is still ~1 oz of tobacco. godspeed op. been a while since i've smoked some bc bud.

If I give you my e-mail will you teach me how and tell me everything I need? I really want to start growing, because Medical Marijuana is about to be legalized here in NC and I want a head start on my plants.
