Soldiers appeared in their town and gave everybody two hours to pack, then loaded them into army trucks and drove them straight to the city, sixteen hours over a dirt road. Only two rest stops. Several cases of heat stroke, including my co-worker's grandfather. He did not know what happened to them because family were not allowed to follow when the casualties were taken away.
