Aside from your views on Sasha herself, I agree with what you say. It will be a mistake to hotshot the title onto her and Becky is much more deserving. Sasha is 24 with a long career ahead of her. Becky is 29, has suffered serious injuries already and has wrestled on the indies a lot. She likely doesn't have long left and she deserves one good run. There has been tension. Becky disapproved of Charlotte cheating back in November. Their feud didn't really start until January. There is a decent bit of time between the two things. The writing could be better, but I think it made sense for Charlotte to turn heel. She's much much better at it. She even said it herself that Paige's words changed her view of things. It's weak, but it's better than having no reason for it at all.

As for the title, what do you think? Defend it? Isn't that what one does with a title. She could feud with Bayley, Sasha or somebody else.

The whole direction of Becky's character at the moment is that you're meant to feel like she's being constantly cheated and screwed over, but she still tries to do the right thing. The current frenemy angle with Sasha is part of that. Becky eating losses is NOT her being buried precisely because it provokes a feeling of injustice. This is nothing new in wrestling: Dusty Rhodes made his career out of being screwed over, DDP got over by being beaten up by the nWo, and Montreal made Bret more popular than ever.

Sasha is great on her day, she hasn't been fantastic on the main roster yet though. Becky has really shone the past few months and come into her own. She's produced mic work better than anything Sasha has done, NXT or Main Roster, she's got over with most crowds at least a little bit, which Sasha has yet to do, and she's had a proper story.

Becky should win at Mania. Sasha winning feels like 1) a pre-set plan formed back in July when they all came up, and 2) on the basis of Haitch and Stephs NXT love rather than events as they are happening currently.

Sasha should win the title at some point, and soon, no question. But as it stands, Becky deserves the mania win, and the story makes more sense for Becky to get that win.
