He got booed out of the building at the Royal Rumble for a second year in a row.

He'll get booed out of the building at Wrestlemania when he goes over HHH. (Don't say otherwise, there's absolutely no way this isn't happening)

When is this company going to realize the fans don't want Reigns? Even with marks/casuals he's only mildly over. He'll be the least over wrestler to main event Wrestlemania for a second year in a row. And they could do so much better with their current roster. Guys like Ambrose are significantly more over, and have been perpetually more over, than Reigns ever has been. And imagine what they could do with guys like Ziggler and Bray Wyatt with proper booking.

Seriously, it boggles my mind they're going to waste the main event of Wrestlemania putting over a guy nearly everyone loathes (and this time without someone like Rollins to bail them out).
>>
They should turn him heel. Even have him ally with authority or something. It would work.

It is obvious he is disliked and will never be liked, or even between-liked on a Cena level.
>>
No one was really booing him but Smarks. Roman entering at #1 got a bigger pop than AJ Styles.
>>
>>909872
Are you deaf? The whole place was fucking booing Reigns during his entrance.
>>
>>909833
It's their fault for over pushing him. They have literally booked him as unstoppable the past few months, and fans hate when this hallens. That is how Cena got his backlash. Not saying to stop pushing Roman, but they can tone the shit down a bit!
>>
>>909833
He's good but they really need to find smarter ways to get him over
>>
>>909872
Listen I'm a Reigns fan and I'll say that's fucking bullshit you liar
>>
WWE can only improve when the bottom dregs and plebeian leeches stop watching.

These are the only people remaining after Cena pushed everyone else away.

Roman Reigns pushing people away would therefore have a positive effect.

I lost my remaining hope tonight. They were trying to convince you it's not the Roman show. The thing they could've done would've been to cheat Roman out of the win early to drive excitement up throughout the match. Everything else regarding the show I thought was great which makes it's worse. The had a chance at resetting everything and the fucked it up once again

Realistic WM card
>Sting vs. Taker
>HHH vs. Reigns
>Brock vs. Bray w/ Wyatts
>New Day vs. Dudley Boyz vs Usos
>Sasha vs. Charlotte
>Kalisto vs. Owens
>AJ, Anderson, Graves, and Ambrose vs. League of Nations
I'm not sure if the IC belt is still real

strange part is that Roman is being booked like a heel. he attacked HHH first and despite being able to walk he still went to the back tonight like a bitch. oh and he got booed out of the building and was only cheered when he was eliminated

I remember when SHEBD was still going, I looked at Reigns and thought that with some carefully picked feuds in the midcard, and a few runs with the IC/US titles, Reigns would be ready to be a main event player by 2017-18. You know, first give him a few years to mature in the ring, as well as connect with the fans and develop his character beyond "big Samoan SHEBD guy that powerbombs people." But instead, near the end of SHEBD and after, they shoved a rocket up Reigns' ass when neither he nor the fans were ready for that.

oh fuck i remember the Miller Catfight Girls... fuck man
>fucking Coach though

My critiques of your actual card though:

1. Nobody REALLY wants this.
*Triple H carried last year's match against Sting, and if half of the match wasn't "Monday Night Wars come to life," the match would've gotten really boring, really fast. Sting can't carry a match.
*Bray Wyatt carried the match against Undertaker last year. Even then, it wasn't that great of a match. The entrances were as long as the fucking match....
Putting 1 and 1 together, Sting vs Undertaker would be a shit show, and it would not (nor could not, even) live up to the hype. Everyone would be extremely disappointed.
>then again, they've said that however Undertaker wants to go out, they're going to do it. He could request to beat fifty guys in a handicapped match, and WWE would find a way to make it happen - because of how much they jerk off to him, even a decade after he was last good.

2. yes. Reigns goes over
3. yes. the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse interfere, Wyatt wins
4. interesting. Quite possible. Shitty they fucked the Dudleyz by letting Swagger and Henry fuck up the Royal Rumble for their combined minute
5. yes. Fuck yes. Fucking yes. Legit Boss is going to fucking ruin her.
6 and 7: no. Where the fuck did you pull that out of? It's going to be Owens vs. AJ Style, and possibly the League of Nations vs. the three Wyatt family members
>>

>>Vince is too fucking stupid to facilitate a brand split to diversify ppv cards and take some of the heat off Reigns. Biggest reason people hate Reigns is that there can only be one champ and his push comes at the expense of every other over-as-fuck midcarder

that's never been a problem for anyone else in their history. brand split was and is dumb. if it's not gonna be real (aka a whole new brand with a new name, not just a tv show with different colored ropes) there's no point
>>
>>910667

you make two muddled points, but there's a combined point:

WWE loves to bring in people from other promotions, make them job to people, and then fucking destroy them. They may get a secondary belt (like the WCW/World Heavyweight belt), but they ultimately are a jobber to the stars. Those being Vince's stars.

>DDP jobbed to Undertaker
>Goldberg jobbed to Triple H
>Kevin Nash jobbed to his best friend Triple H
>Sting jobbed to Triple H
>Samoa Joe is jobbing to NXT rookies
>Three of the Radicalz jobbed. When you have Perry Saturn in love with a mop, you know you've fucked them good. Eddie only made something of himself because there was no way to hold him back. Everyone loved him too much.

AJ Styles is going to job to some of WWE's jack-off material, then get buried.

NXT doesn't count?

We need NXT to be the developmental roster, RAW to be the total divas manly soap opera meme roster, and Smackdown to be the veteran wrestling roster. When I say veteran, I'm not talking about ancient monsters, I'm talking about talented people who spent a decade in the indies who are stuck on RAW jobbing to Sheamus and doing comedy skits. I'm also talking about NXT rookies ready to move inot a bigger league.

They should have turned him heel (Reigns), because then they'd get the right response.

He had a chance of staying face, right up until they brought in AJ at #3...

They saw what happened when they put Roman over a fan favorite at a RR (DBry last year), so what did they do? They brought in AJ... in Florida, at a PPV, in front of a bunch of NXT fans. It wasn't like AJ was 1 of 10 guys in the ring at the time... it was him vs. Reigns at that point. I'm glad that AJ came in when he did, because he got to get the intro and pop he deserves, but what idiot in creative thought that particular crowd would do anything but boo the shit out of anyone who touched AJ?

They let Owens eliminate him, which was the right choice, since they've been building Owens as a heel, and in front of a crowd like that, you need a heel (or someone you want to be a heel), eliminate AJ.

I honestly don't know where Vince books AJ now, because he's another DB. He's going to be over no matter what you do. He can send him back to NXT, but that just builds the Bullet Club stable.

I wouldn't say people hate Reigns because he's getting over at the expense of others.

People hate Reigns because of the ridiculous push they gave him. Everyone hated when he won the Rumble at the expense of others, yes (look at The Rock's face when the fucking Rock got booed for holding up Roman's hand afterwards - they booed the fucking Rock).

Vince has made mistakes before, but he corrected them. What really made the fans hate Roman is because they kept. fucking. pushing him.
>The sketch with Mark Henry
>"I didn't believe in you, Roman, but now I do!"

As another anon mentioned before, Vince loves the people HE created. If someone got famous in the indies/WCW/etc., Vince either gave them a new gimmick, or just made them job before burying them.

Foley became Mankind because Vince didn't like Cactus Jack.

CM Punk was put in OVW and buried until Paul Heyman saved him

Daniel Bryan was fired on his first night

Not to mention the WCW/ECW invasion was one big storyline to fuck all of them. Almost nobody stayed long-term, because they weren't Vince's products.

tl;dr Vince jacks off to the people he created

>>910741
He was booked like a heel, a true face will stay on that match or just sit around and get up after a few minutes and not hide in the gorilla for 20 minutes

The run-in 15 minutes earlier was unnecessary and it hurt Reigns more than it helped him
>>
>>910769

I agree with the first two sentences, but Triple H still has it. Sure, he's not 25 anymore, but that doesn't mean he's not good. Shawn was pretty old when he retired, and he could still be the showstopper. Even Vince was pretty old when he'd have his matches with Austin.
>With people like Flair, Taker, and Sting, yes, they sometimes wrestle past their prime and milk them, but not everyone is shit after a certain age.
>>
>>910777

trips speak the truth

1. The logic of the run-in was just ridiculous. Why not throw him over the top, THEN beat him down. Or beat him down in the ring, THEN throw him out and continue the beating? Yes, it's planned, but you still have to give an air of plausibility.
>Austin was out most of his Rumble, but that's because he was "in an ambulance on the way to the hospital" - not just sucking it up backstage

2. There was no run-in for Triple H. Sheamus was supposedly in the match still? (Who fucking knows anymore...) They should have done the beatdown after Triple H came out - that would've actually made sense.

3. Pussying out is a heel move, totally. Miz doing commentary instead of getting in the ring was great. Vince did the same thing when he was in the Rumble. Someone else sat outside and hid for like half the match in the mid-2000's (don't remember who). It's a great heel thing to sit out and take a break - and Roman wasn't supposed to be a fucking heel.
>>
>>910716
-You got me on DDP, they buried him hard.
-Goldberg wasn't a good fit for the attitude/ruthless aggression transition. People chanted boring in his matches because they didn't respect WCW's Cena coming in and shitting on wrestlers they liked for years.
-Nash just wanted a paycheck. He hammed up his promos so bad because he didn't give a shit and he knew HHH would give him a job because HHH will always be desperate to belong in the kliq.
-Sting losing in his debut was embarrassing to watch. Worst part was having HHH's friends come out as Sting's only backup.
-Samoa Joe is a fatass with a limited arsenal who only got over in NXT for lack of competition.
-Benoit and Guerrero didn't job. Malenko almost never lost but he was boring in the same way as Goldberg. Saturn I'll give you.
>>
>>910796
I think they made the decision that letting him sell all those finishers in front of the French announcers' table in a smarky crowd would initiate "Roman is sleeping chants" so they had him carted off to the back

However he should have returned after 5-6 superstars came in and not when Sheamus finally showed up, anything less would be no-selling on his part

He's not even gassed since he was trading blows with AJ and Jericho
>>
>>910763
>Not to mention the WCW/ECW invasion was one big storyline to fuck all of them. Almost nobody stayed long-term, because they weren't Vince's products.

>Jericho
>Beeg
>Etc.

>>
>>910808

I think they used Goldberg pretty well to begin with. I was a fan then, and I enjoyed it
....then they fucking handcuffed him inside the elimination chamber. and that was the dumbest fucking shit I've ever seen. They might as well have used a taser on him while he tried grabbing viagra on a pole...

Nash always just wanted a check. He fucked the WCW over while shoveling money into a wheelbarrow. Nash never gave a fuck about the business - he was just a basketball reject who needed a job
>Trips was always the designated driver; he was always going to have a spot in the kliq

agreed on Sting. I felt that was such a waste. made me sad.

My point wasn't that Samoa Joe was great - my point was they brought in someone with indie cred so that he could job - that was his purpose all along

malenko never got over, and never got pushed. they didn't necessarily bury him just for fun, but he never went anywhere after the first couple months.
Benoit and Guerrero were buried in the beginning. After their mini-invasion, all four were put in the background. For Eddie, it was his storyline with Chyna that let him rise to the top - which was Vince's storyline. Benoit was shoved aside for years. He was in WWE for years before getting his big push - essentially starting at the bottom and working his way up. In both cases, they didn't come in as stars and be stars; they came in as stars, got put on the shelf, and worked their way up.

>Miz doing commentary instead of getting in the ring was great
You thought so too? I'm not a Miz fan because I think he's a pussy, but his ability to make you hate him as a heel AND want to see him get what's coming to him is a rare quality nowadays. Most heels get cheered.
>>910815
I think they carted him to the back because the fans were chanting holy shit and Vince doesn't want to offend his target audience of titty-babies.

match rules didn't make sense either. why not just throw him in the ring and back out, since apparently that's legal
>>
>>910847
There were a couple spots where that was actually warranted, though. They went a hell of a lot harder than I anticipated in a WWE match in [the current year].
>>
>>910819

Exactly. Everyone who came over after he bought WCW was just part of his war spoils. The people who stayed - pretty much all people who came before the sale - were mainly given new gimmicks or characters. "The Giant" became "The Big Show." Jericho went from a mouthy fag to a superstar mouthy fag. The Radicalz were given as a new gimmick as a group, when they weren't really connected in WCW (with their individual characters set aside).

In other words, Vince remade them into his own creations. Not just "loyalty" per se, but they were his.
>>
>>910848
also, why didn't the wyatts just stay in there and help bray the whole time
>>
>>910845

Obviously there are exceptions to every rule, but I wouldn't say Rey was given a big push. He mainly rose to fame because Eddie died. His push at the Royal Rumble, through Wrestlemania, only happened because of Eddie. Rey was a good mid-carder before that who was just too damn entertaining to hold back (like Eddie), but Rey wouldn't have been what he was if Eddie had lived.
>>
>>910857

he didn't need them, and it would've been pushing their luck to have all three eliminated men inside. generally at the rumble, people are allowed to interfere for awhile, but not all night. there was precedence for that

I thought it was great how they had them swarm when they were needed, and I found it plausible enough to get marked.
>>
>>910848

Nash always just wanted a check. He fucked the WCW over while shoveling money into a wheelbarrow. Nash never gave a fuck about the business - he was just a basketball reject who needed a job
He always played at legitimacy too. He had a match with Greg Valentine once after WCW went under and Nash went on a tirade before the match about how Valentine let himself go and Kevin still had the self-respect (read: roids) to stay in shape. He then proceeded to stiff the shit out of Greg for 15 minutes in front of a small audience... Just beating the shit out of an ancient manlet to feel good about himself.
>In both cases, they didn't come in as stars and be stars; they came in as stars, got put on the shelf, and worked their way up.
This isn't so much Vince as it is the crowd. The WWF crowd differed from the WCW crowd in that they valued technical skills less while valuing mic skills above all else. WWF's crowd considered mic skills to be memorable memes repeating nightly over the course of 10 years.

WCW fans cared about anything?

Their "technical skills" were shit. WCW was a bunch of old guys who had been famous a decade before (and young guys with talent who were relegated to sideshows on Thunder)

When the WWE Network did the Attitude Era replays of Raw, I went back and watched all of them. They were still fucking amazing today - way more entertaining than today's product. in contrast, brock lesner came out, threw out 3 guys; they came back and jumped him only he kicked their asses back out of the ring.

I don't think I can stand for AJ to be anything but WHC. Even the popular midcarders are fat and lazy, and it would be so refreshing to have a champ with more than 5 moves. Hell, more than 3. WM's gonna be a snoozefest.

If you want a proper retort onto an entirely subjective matter go look up the over-abundance of dreadful promos he cut last year.

>Why shouldn't the guy who was never beaten for the WWE World Title come back in that scene?

Because over-saturation is a bad thing.
He doesn't NEED to be immediately propelled right back to where he was. Let him lay low a while and build his new character instead of thrusting him back into the spotlight in which he previously wilted.
