Maybe it's just because I'm an anal-retentive lunatic, but I can't help but think it'd be really neat if they had some intern throw together a rulebook (have it double checked for accuracy and sense by someone who knows wrestling, and checked for grammar by someone who didn't make a conscious decision to intern for the WWE) that lays out the rules for gear, conduct during matches, victory conditions of matches, the alternative rules and victory conditions for various gimmick matches.

I swear this happens once every five years or so and people are PISSED every goddamn time. I vaguely recall JeriShow getting DQ'ed for it (I'm certain BEEG was involved at any rate) some years ago and people flipped their shit. I also think you're correct in saying in happened in the past year or two as well.

I'm okay with them DQing people for blatant, intentional interference LONG after the five count for getting out of the ring after a tag has expired, especially when it breaks up what appeared to be a pinfall or submission. Like a "penalty try" in rugby, where if you commit a penalty that the refs determines would have prevented a try (the rugby equivalent of a TD, for those unaware), the ref awards the try and tells the offending player to stop being such a little faget.

In the hypothetical rulebook they post on WWE.com in my perfect, OCD world, the rule would read something like "During a tag match, wrestlers not legally allowed to be inside the ring area are not allowed to interfere with the match inside the ring area. The match official shall do his best to prevent such interference, and reprimand offenders. If the match official determines that illegal interference prevented a pinfall or submission victory by the non-offending team, the match official shall award the non-offending team victory in the match via disqualification. In the event of a disqualification under this rule, any Championship contested for in the match may change hands."

Obviously, they should NEVER read this verbatim on the air, just leave in on the website for the nerds with far too much time on their hands, just state that illegal interference will be punished, and if illegal interference by one of the wrestlers in the match results in a DQ, the Tag Titles can still change hands.

The draft was kind of an asinine plot device that was a necessary evil to explain why wrestlers would move from one roster to another, which was occasionally needed in order to set up new feuds and angles once a wrestler had worked about everyone they could on one brand.
