She's technically under contract until 2017.
That's why her book isn't coming out until then.

I think she saw the writing on the wall. She would have eventually been cast into irrelevancy while still on the roster like say Layla or Natalya were/are. With Nikki fucking John and having his pull behind her, it was only a matter of time. Shits too strong. You can't defeat Superman. Or stagnation.

And let's face it, what else was there for her to do? TD? Get real. She had the longest continuous reign at the time, longest overall reign, defended her divas title at mania (a first), had a really good feud with a friend (who also left), feuded with everyone available at the time and came out on top usually, had some nice promos (one great, memorable one), had a summer she pretty much took over one year, got a nice win at Mania against her most bitter rivals to more or less end her career. Who can say they had a fraction of that in the divas world? Few. Injuries and backstage nonsense began to mount and there just wasn't much there for her to work with or, I would imagine, get excited over. Her career wouldn't have gotten any better if she stuck around and that is the closest to going out on top as you can get. Having her pitted once again against Nikki would have gotten her nowhere, which it seems they were headed with her at the time. I honestly was not surprised she left. WWE can pettily erase her now if they want but I doubt she cares at this point. She reached all her goals and surpassed even what she thought she could do. From broke to top of her field (in divas)? Not bad. If she wants to do normal people shit and not have to travel 300 days a year anymore, I can't blame her. Wrestling will move on like it always does and that's sorta the point. She had her moments. Now someone else will.
