It's no secret that the WWE is in dire straits right now. Ratings are at an all-time low, attendance has plummeted, tarped off venues have become the new normal when just a few years ago, the WWE was selling out arenas with ease. Meanwhile, NJPW, on the verge of collapse a few years ago, its flame trickling away until Tanahashi and Gedo quite literally saved the company, comes roaring back, not only surviving but thriving to be as popular as it's ever been. The threads here have gotten it twisted. "Is he a draw?" "How much of a draw is Roman Reigns?" "Did he draw?". You're all wrong. The reason why WWE is dying is because they market the WWE ITSELF as the draw in place of WWE superstars. NJPW markets the WRESTLERS as the draw and not the promotion or the authority figures, unlike the WWE. One look at the product now and what's readily apparent is that Stephanie McMahon, Vince and Triple H, they're the draws, not the wrestlers. The emasculation by Stephanie, the abuse by Vince and Hunter. The wrestlers are nobodies, they can no longer create superstars, nor would they want to. The last thing they want is to be held hostage and grabbed by the balls like they were with Austin and Hogan or how McGregor has the UFC by the groin. They're very quick to bury superstars who get over on their own (Zack Ryder, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan spring to mind), meanwhile you couldn't talk about the WWF in the late 90's without mentioning household names like Austin, The Rock, Kane and the Undertaker. NJPW has Kenny Omega, Okada, Naito, Tanahashi, Minoru, who they advertise instead of trying to stifle and that's what the WWE's main problem is, they don't have main event talent. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, they intentionally hold their talents back for leverage and dominance purposes and in return, there's nothing that grabs the viewers and encourages them to tune in. Look at all the comments for the G1 this upcoming month. "Wow, the G1 looks stacked." And therein lies the solution.

Cross posted bc you can;t trust /b/. I need help deciding on a discipline of martial arts to follow / an institution to study at.

Option #1 is an ATA school where they offer TKD and Krav Maga classes.
>Pros: I'm already a blue belt in TKD, Krav Maga is dope af.
>Cons: TKD is shit tier when it comes to street self defense. ATA is a lot more focused on kids.

Option #2 offers Wing Chun Kung Fu (think Bruce Lee) and both styles of Tai Chi, plus Qigong classes.
>Pros: What's good for Bruce is good for me. Plus the spiritual aspect of Tai Chi/Qigong is fun I guess.
>Cons: Tai Chi offers less than TKD for practical use. Wing Chun is up there but I still place Krav Maga higher.

Thoughts? Opinions? Call a fag out for something? I'm open.
