The main event tonight is hot fire and features the latest chapter in the ongoing war between the Jimmyz and MaxiMuM. This will be a match that mixes Naniwa Rules (basically a tag match Royal Rumble of sorts) and Captain's Fall rules, where pinning the designated captain wins the match. This feud seems to be leading to a big tag match down the road, possibly with losing unit disbands stipulations attached, but they aren't doing this at Kobe because it would be too early, and it would overshadow something else.

Which leads us to the semifinal. This is a tag match of sorts that pits YAMATO against T-Hawk. T-Hawk just got done with the King of Gate tournament, walking away the winner and is next in line to challenge for the Dream Gate in the main event at World. They usually do some variant on this tag match every year where guys who aren't even involved in the Dream Gate picture get thrown into the mix which is usually not worth noting. But, as Hulk points out every chance he gets, he fucking hates Shingo. This is a match where we have two guys who hate each other and will probably take every liberty possible to murder each other.

NJPW is a dying promotion. How can it be saved? Maybe stop pushing vanilla personalities? I don't know, but I want the product to succeed and they clearly are not connecting with the audience.
