The actual matches are not the problem, it's the complete lack of heat and reasons to give a shit about them that's the issue. What's a usual feud now, someone cutting a boring promo on Raw, that gets interrupted by whoever, which is then reason enough to start a feud. They'll then wrestle seemingly about 20 times in a variety of singles and tag matches in the run up to a PPV match, which by that point you would have seen dozens of times already. Then after that match there will be the inevitable rematch the following night on Raw. Then they'll just move on to the next person in line and go through the same thing again. The way to save the WWE is to build some characters and stories that people can get invested in.
